Hey guys, I was playing the What-monster-can-I-kill-without-dying game through the debug menu, and spawned the generator, not knowing what it does. Is there a way I can “win” the defense game or remove it without killing it? I’d rather not restart my character.
Don’t quote me on this but I think that having the generator die outside of defence mode wont do anything.
I don’t think you can remove it, but you could debug a metal wall around it and then build (debug) a empty space moat around that. You should be safe then.

I tested killing the generator, it does kill you if it dies.
You could edit it out of your save, I think.
First off make a backup of the save.
Then:
[ul][li]Get near the generator[/li]
[li]Save the game (and exit)[/li]
[li]Find the save file. The current location should be enough, no need to look in in other map files (I think)[/li]
[li]Find mon_generator, copy its id and remove sections that contain it from the file.[/li]
[li]Remove the section that contains mon_generator and its stats from the file[/li][/ul]
If the modified file loads and doesn’t crash, get out of the area and then go back. If it doesn’t respawn the generator and doesn’t do anything stupid after saving and loading once again, it should work fine after that.
And this is why we discourage mucking about with Debug in a serious game.
This is also why you backup a save before mucking about with Debug, serious game or not
Very true. Ah well, it’s not a super big deal. I don’t like debugging in items, but I like seeing what I should stay away from and what I can take before charging headlong into a monster.
