That would be pretty cool, but bear in mind that natural selection would kill off most of the survivors that approach aggressively. The surviving survivors would be the ones that either unpack their L.A.W. as soon as you enter their view and the ones that say nice things as they approach, regardless of their intentions…
OK, I may hold you to that.
Smaller light fixtures for vehicles that use much less energy than the other ones, and only light a small area, think like the interior lighting in most cars irl.
Allow car thrust to be adjusted even when not seated over the controls, or with no seating at all, with appropriate adjustments to ability to remain on the vehicle.
Replace tank drones with more appropriately sized automated vehicles of the same name, and make it so vehicles like such will trigger safemode and otherwise be viewable like mobs.
Make vehicular turrets reasonably difficult to build, rather than a magical frame which autotargets however you want with no electronics, etc (far as i can tell at least)
Have vehicle mounted weapons, manual turrets, essentially. Largr bonus to accuracy with reload time and recoil reduction. Allow said turrets to be mounted on the Roof, allowing it to shoot from the vehicle in all directions, but be unable to shoot into the vehicle itself.
Make small tank, storage battery, and smaller engines foldavle if they aren’t already. Transportable generator, basically.
With sufficient electronics skills, be able to hook up vehicles to unpowered environment such as unpowered controls, etc.
If melee weapons can be coded to consume ammo per strike you could make a melee mod for cutting/stabbing weapons that adds X charges of poison.
Crafting venomous darts/arrows/bolts out of wasp/bee stings
Fungal grenades as both a craftable (Tin can + fungal corpse) and mutation/monster attack.
Crafting a manhack into a battery gobbling boomerang
Fungal ‘armor’ plating a vehicle if you park it too long in a fungal zone. Not a good thing if you don’t love fungus
Handcrafting shoddy ammo for the various RPGs out of duct-tape, firecrackers and military grade explosives. (Landmines/dynamite)
Being able to use a sling to throw grenades further.
The ability to attach jumper cables to a battery and a wire/barbed wire fence, metal doors or bodies of water to electrocute anything that smashes or tries to open/climb it.
This reminds me, that I was thinking about suggesting a special seat, that would use some sort of catapult, to eject from the vehicle, when you reached a certain speed.
Sort of like:
Build controls and the seat at the rear of the vehicle, with open space behind you. Measure the combined weight of you and the seat, set the catapult to eject you when you hit 120KPH, set the force of the catapult so that it accelerates you and the seat to -120KPH. Then you just aim at anything you want to ram, floor the gas pedal and sip your favorite beverage as the carnage erupts.
Also, jet engines. Must have jet engines.
(This should go to the bad ideas thread though, to be completely honest)
Automatic highlighting of new recipes so that when I get a level up in a skill, I can actually see what’s new.
When you get hit by fungal fighters it should infect you with a spy parisite which, will have triffids perhaphs being less hostile and if you get fungaloids near sight it will emit a high pitched noise that you can only hear with enhanced hearing or the such… expect some company
I think there are too many marijuana gardens. In the future, people will just travel to a state where it is legal or grow the plants in the backyard rather than risk guests finding something suspicious. People may also grow opium underground instead or alongside it.
Unnamed books- presumably notes, diarys, or hidden fun stuff that have random recipies in them and random learning skills or moral bonus.
like finding the book of blah - 200 moral penalty for even trying
Fixed that for you.
Why is there no hp lovecraft book

Well, the fact that one cannot steal the turbine from a 747 and stick it on the back of a flatbed is sort of depressing…
As for ejector seats, they are sort of difficult to pull off. It may be hypothetically plausible to have some sort of mechanism to convert horizontal speed into vertical speed and then use it to deploy a parachute or something, but the aerodynamics involved would make it prohibitively difficult. An alternative would be an armoured cabin with a softened path in front of it so that if your vehicle stopped really quickly, the pilot would keep going with comparatively less acceleration. So long as the critical existence threat were not directly in front of the pilot the escape pod would be a preferable alternative to going “squish” with the rest of your vehicle…
Turn off or tone down cold and flu for “classic zombies” games, since it’s impossible to find royal jelly without labs and hives.
Regarding mj basements, Catamerica is significantly more right wing/conservative. I’d imagine mj would be even more illegal, if anything.
Regarding H P Lovecraft, good question. No clue what the book would do though. I enjoy reading him, and horror novels are a plus to morale, but as the horror novel description says, “Maybe not the best reading material considering the situation.”
Regarding new recipe highlights, it’s not in game, but it’s in the skill browser. http://cdda-trunk.estilofusion.com/skills/fabrication/1
That’s helpful. I still say it would be better in game though
Disclude duct tape from the cut up list… Why in the world for any possible, plausible, or probable reason would you ever, ever, ever even think about cutting up duct tape.
To get the ducks out of it?
While the world of Cataclysm is one the meek definitely do not inherit, nearly everyone has invisible tells that give away their intentions. Even if some nice guy is saying “Hey buddy, put your weapon away! Let’s powwow!” an astute character would be able to tell if something is off with the NPC’s behaviour/body language.
It could be a function of perception, as in the higher perception you have the easier it would be to pass a perception check from farther away.
Riot helmets shouldn’t encumber the mouth and eyes. (But should still cover them.)
There should also be an option to flip the visor up, giving extra protection to the head, but causing it to not cover the eyes and mouth.
I don’t know about not encumbering the eyes. Remember that the visor would be prone to getting dirty/foggy during your travels, and it would certainly make wearing anything bigger than a pair of glasses a chore.
All for being able to put the visor up or down though. Same should apply to Great helms.
