Being able to switch various engines installed in your current vehicle on and off independently would be neat.
No idea! But ‘zombie you’ is more interesting. Remember, every zombie is a life.[/quote]
As far as I know the character is NOT immune to the zombie virus, but IS infected, I believe player zombification is a planned feature (Eventually™).
The primordial zombie ooze is dormant when inside a living mammal, the only known method of removing it was repeated consecutive teleportation, which had the side effect of making the entire cataclysm worse by weakening the dimensional barrier or something along those lines, it’s been awhile since I read that.
Moar Building Thoughts:
A small dance studio. Tutu’s, child zombies.
Nightclubs.
You are not immune, but you may or may not be infected IIRC. I know at one point you could go into hospitals, draw your blood and test it. Useful for other things too, but also tells you if you got the goo, in more mysterious terms. Can’t do anything with it yet. It would be nice to have your previous character’s corpses rise up, as well as those random corpses, fresh non-decayed zombies! If you were infected, does that mean you’d drop tainted meat? Or is that only after you’ve revived and began zombie mutation? It’d also be fun for wildlife to do the same when killed, if not butchered.
Of course, if you were goo free, and didn’t test everything, then maybe you’ll become infected, unless you find a way to purify everything you eat (is cooking and boiling good enough?). Some plants have been affected, but would things like strawberries be infected? I.e.: can the goo travel with water vapor and back down as rain? Or only in the liquid bodies on ground?
I’d also like to be able to bury things (dig shallow or deep, then refill with items in pit), items for storage, bodies for the role playing folk or instead of butchering (add moral penalty, except for cannibals and psychopaths). If you bury in shallow, chance of them rising, deep pits hold them, though if you dig them back up, they may be waiting.
I like the pit-as-storage idea.
Since we can now dig downward staircases, maybe we could also dig wells. I’m thinking a multiple stage project (at least four steps) requiring a ton of rocks and some wood as well.
For added FUN! there could be a random chance something nasty comes crawling out of it at night. Maybe also dramatically increase chance of some sort of infection when drinking from the well if the player leaves rotting meat within 5 tiles of the well for some period of time.
You can dig wells
I guess I need to explore the current version a bit more.
It would be nice if garages had a chance (one in ten?) to spawn next to out-of-town gas pumps. I think it makes sense to have them out there.
I like garage bases
how about allowing any liquid to be stored in a vehicle tank. “normal water”, bleach and ammonia, salt water (especially useful after seas are added) and whatever else gets added later. it would go especially well with being able to add crafting results to nearby receptacles.
also, can recipes have multiple results, like say, distilling salt water into salt and clean water?
Very much needful thing: Hotdog recipe without a bun and all that stuff.
Right now I think the only way I can cook a hotdog is with bread/bun and condiments (or the even more complex chilidog), see:

Someone be a dear and toss on a … like … a ‘plain hotdog’ recipe or ‘hotdog on a stick’ or something, that will let me cook all these damnable frozen hotdogs and eat them without tracking down bread and stuff. Make it as miserable to eat as Spam if you must, just let me eat them so they have a use other than for skilling throwing.
An in world usable pulley / block-and-tackle system to allow for pulling of heavy objects, or with a ground-attached base, pulling things at an angle you wouldn’t normally be able to (in order to move vehicles etc. out of the way by using yours)

Sounds like a neat idea, Cat09.
Upgrade Internal Chronometer CBM with an alarm function.
Built-in clocks (power armor helmets) should also have it.

Good point.

I’m not sure the internal chronometer would have the connection needed (IMO you’d need to interface it with the Alarm System), but this is definitely a simple addition that would improve the game. +1.
Corpses rotting away
After acid rain, corpses start to pile outside. After a while, the place will be littered with dead monsters because corpses don’t disappear.
Flesh corpses should rot away just like perishable food do. Maybe it should take longer.
Acid rain should also damage corpses and ultimately destroy them.
+1 this. I thought it was already in several version ago but it seems to no longer work, around my base is a nightmare rotting hellscape.
Additionally I think early game water boiling needs a makeover, I wrote a separate thread for it but I think it counts as needful, so I am mentioning it here as well.
Add a new weather:
Fog.
The main effect would be a notably reduced viewing range.
Fog may also come in different levels, like medium fog, dense fog, etc.
And, of course, monsters that only come out when it’s foggy, a la John Carpenter’s ‘The Fog’.
The original.
