Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

Well I like to keep my 360 degree vision when in a car, and surrounding myself with 7 windshields just looks weird.
Here’s how I changed my vehicle design lately:
Before

""" "#" "+" ===

After

^^^ """ |#| ===

The ^'s are just armored heavy duty frames. The |'s are quarterpanels. The new design is not completely enclosed but it still provides roof. And what I was saying is that quarterpanels are still the first thing to break.

Mod descriptions.
Because “Icecoon’s Weapons Pack” doesn’t really describe what’s gonna be going on.

Slopes and handbrakes? And racetracks? Do they have motor-vehicle sports in the setting’s region?

Simple addition:

  1. Less forest animals.
  2. Speed up forest animals and make hard to hunt on them.
  3. Fruitage only in autumn. (it may be not simply)
  4. Checks saving nutritional value in cooking recipes. 2 eggs having 36 nutrition point can’t give more point after cooking, for example.
  5. Less eggs and plants in forests. Player must suffer and eat his shoes if they don’t want walk for search food.
  6. No blacksmith mod
  7. More simple drying (like UrW, i.e. place on dark, dry and warm place and take after few days)
  8. Making leather from fur.
  1. Сделать мод без рецептов с работой по железу
  2. Возможность сушить еду поместив её в сухое, тёмное и тёплое место. (развещать на верёвке)
  1. Yeah.
  2. Yeah, and make them hunt on you less.
  3. Fruit are already way more plentiful in autumn. You’ll get 1-2 apples in spring, 6-7 in autumn.
  4. Cooked food actually has (and should have) more nutritional value. It’s one of the reasons cooking was invented. Easier to digest = more nutrition.
  5. Yeah, it’s surprising how much searching a single forest square can yield, both in trash and food.
  6. Yeah, need tanning recipes.

(I don’t understand 6-7)

I think you can apply a knife to a fur patch to get a leather patch.

Yup, you can.

Cutting is real SIMPLE if you don’t care about the fallout. This reads more like a wishlist.

Fire hydrants

Use a wrench on them or destroy them and they spew water.

8. Making leather from fur.
I accidently discivered that cutting fur with a knife will turn it into a leather.

Regarding all the items in this lost that would make it difficult to hunt food: maybe incorporate this as a mod or setting? Not everyone wants to have really push to find food. I personally find the amount of forest animals fairly balanced currently, And I’m not sure I would want that changed just to satisfy some players desire for more difficulty.

one question: Fire hydrants require pressure to spew water. that pressure comes often from pumping stations. if there is no power, how would that work?

There are still watertanks in most areas, they provide some water via gravity…

Permaseasons. Winter all day, every day.
Could also be an opportunity for custom seasons. Nuclear winter, anyone?

That would be a relatively simple mod, I think, weather is controlled from about 3 files and you could make season permanent by changing the seasonal weather patterns. I haven’t looked at temperature yet, but I know the weather types and rates are relatively easy to modify, 4 arrays, I think.

Permaseasons? Gimme alternate worlds. Desert, like that option that was but disappeared.

Sawn-off Mossbergs and Remingtons magically turning into a double-barrel gun. Strange how this hasn’t been addressed yet.
Doesn’t make sense no matter how you look at it.

Thats for the bugs section, along with the “you see two of X” when one thing is there.

Vehicle Show and Tell thread sparked an idea.
Portable generators and jumper cables! Charge up those vehicles/batteries.

Sorry, no time to check if it was mentioned already.

Some advanced stationary machines which help to install bionics (lower the chance of failure). They would be powered with some expensive fuel (hydrogen or sth) and placed in military/science facilities or locked up in hospitals (e.g. basements filled with zombies). The improvement for installations should be something like 10-20% so it’s not that OP.

It’s been suggested and discussed repeatedly. Not simple. Don’t be sorry, take the time.

More umbrella types so that albinos aren’t limited by the selection. Like metal umbrellas, crowbar umbrellas, assassin umbrellas with a hidden retractable spear, and gunbrellas. Most of which should not intimidate NPCs.
