Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

Well… This is mine list:
Shutter doors in malls to alternatively close entrances when zombies break those weak glass doors.
Doors locking with keys or something like keys.
MOAR MUTATIONS (yeah… I really like mutations :stuck_out_tongue: ).
Vehicle lifts (these heavy-duty real-life lifts for vehicles).
As I’m a pyromaniac, I would want to have more Explosives and Fire sources.
Probably Tanks in the future, but ammo to it would be rare enough, that before you fire from cannon, you would think two times about if it’s worth it.
As for now, I don’t have other crazy sugestions.

…on a side note, if someone actually made a luandromat, what are the chances that it would be mainlined?

A battering ram like weapon… like say made from a log with one rope on each end. A strong character can use it against zombies and it can push them back and damage them. Kinda like the attack of the brute or hulk, though the push has a far smaller range (unless the character is really really really strong) which can do additional damage if the zombie gets pushed into an obstacle.

I actually have a pre-json laundromat floating around somewhere… Can probably submit it after a quick update.

Honestly, pretty good chances. Jsoning buildings is pretty easy. Go for it! :slight_smile:

Is it possible to port your overmap tile base from the game over to defense mode?

We already have tripwires, AFAIK.

Not a native speaker here, but if laundromats and washing machines are the same thing, don’t we already have those in one of the basements?

Laundromats are basically public “stores” where you can pay to use a washing machine/dryer, for people that don’t own their own.

Add a special attack that allows shadows to posses an enemy, turning it into their team and perhaps giving it a few buffs.

Ah okay, so its about a building not about the machine itself.

Still, I feel that many things that are being proposed here are either already in, have been proposed and rejected many times, or are extremely niche cases. Also the sheer amount of pages makes this thread go a bit out of hand. How about making a new thread for more refined ideas to inspire people that know some coding and maybe simply lack good ideas?

That would be kinda cool. I’m not saying universal, but a few zombies like that might be neat.

Some sort of miasma would be nice if only to make player clean his lair now and then.
Unless, of course, he or she spends his days wearing a gasmask.

Cool find indeed!

Maybe an active version of the radiation scrubber bionic? Like provides the environmental protection of a hazmat suit in exchange for a big drain in bionic power? Could be handy for those with mutated anatomy that prevents them from wearing hazmat suits.

CBM: Radiation Inhibitor? I guess we could use one.

With the deafness beign here to stay maybe some sort of hearing protection in the form of advanced helmets w/tac com that also reduces the noiselevels momentarily or headsets with the same properrty like these

Rank and branch, maybe even mos described in the fatigues of the zombie soldiers.
Or doesn’t the military in 2040 any longer have different branches?

Some way to add notes on artifacts would be VERY VERY appreciated - you could just add the ability to edit the description, as there’s already a file that holds that information, and artifacts are unique, so it wouldn’t affect other items.

Experimenting to find out what an artifact does can be painful. Forgetting and having to do it again… ouch. I have 2 artifacts with VERY similar names, but very different powers, and it’s annoying.

Metal detectors, you walk into a secured area carrying several knives, an automatic rifle, several grenades, and one of your arms ins an energy weapon, then maybe a loud alarm goes off… Perhaps they could be hacked to consider you an approved source of iron and to therefore be palatable. Or even they could be disassembled and repurposed as mobile metal detectors with a small ability to locate special terrain features, like maybe they could detect higher densities of stray construction materials from a nearby L.M.O.E. shelter or something…
