Mutations/Bionics In Tools?

Is it possible to use mutations or bionics as item actions? I have noticed that some are duplicated, like the RADGLOVE item action from the radiation biomonitor and bio_geiger from the Integrated Dosimeter CBM.

I was trying to create a biomonitor that added the self-aware trait when worn. There are other things that I could apply this to, though, such as crafting boots that grant LIGHTSTEP or a drug that temporarily grants ROBUST.
