Minifridge doesn't work?

So, minifridges. They seemed like a good idea, but instead of keeping my cooked meat fresh, they kept it HOT instead. To the point where I go into the fridge and find “Cooked Meat (Hot) (Rotten)”. Is that supposed to be the way it goes…?

And turning it on? As lights, through the menu.

I think it is rather hard atm to determine if the fridge is on right?
