looks like something is wrong with the innermost / outermost order

like i put my under armor on innermost, and it got damaged first instead of my utility vest or trench coat

AFIAK (and I might be wrong) the cover% is used to calculate damage chance.

Yes, coverage is used to determine if a layer is hit. It’s possible that the attack bypassed the utility vest and got stopped by the under armour instead.

Also bash damage can damage inner layers without harming outer layers. Cut damage cannot do this, once it fails to penetrate a layer, it cannot damage further layers below.

But the under armor was also under a trench coat… must have been the bash damage I suppose.

Trenchcoats only have 95% coverage, so it could have been that lucky 5%, or a bash damage that went through.
