How to can food so it is "sealed"

Went fishing, caught a bunch of fish, and butchered them. Decided canning with a 3L jar would be faster then smoking all the fillets. I did successfully put them in a can using the regular recipe here, but it only has a 2 day shelf life.

Is there some way of sealing the can after I cook it or am I missing something?

SOLUTION: Words are grey = its not spoiling (also says “Sealed” in item header)

Unless it changed or there’s a bug or I misunderstood something, it actually is sealed and will not spoil until you open it and eat/use at least one portion of it (or dump it onto the ground…).
Is the name of it in your inventory cyan colored or “neutral”/“normal” (white)? If it’s white, it should not spoil anymore (unless you’ll do something of the things listed above).

I guess it does say sealed. The line where it says less then 1 day left made me nervous. I will assume it will not spoil and leave it there for awhile and check back. Thanks for the help

you need a canning pot irrc, or something that has the sealing quality

Sealed spoilable food still shows its spoil time counter but it should be in gray text, to show it is sealed. When it is opened and start counting for rotting again it should be in blue text.
