How do you take down a tent?

Stupid question but yeah, there it is. I pitched a tent, put on my sleeping bag, and had a good night’s rest. Then I realized I have no idea how to take the tent down so I can use it again. Smashing it just damages it, it seems, so is there another way to take it down so that it isn’t ruined?
