Decided it was ‘unfair’ to clean the same city my last character was trying to, so walked to the west.
One waste sarcophagous, one river, avoiding several swamps and fighting against a giant ant, i was almost dehydrated and found a farm. YEAH…
…except that i had no way to make clean water. Food poisoning is bad and worse when you decide to play with Hardcore.
Still, i survived and kept walking. Three mutations later, found another farm, after a long walk, and a good truck, and a pot! Except by the fact that the place was very close of a non-warned triffid nest.
Still, i survived, throwing everything i could at the trunk of the truck and accelerating as much as i cood, avoiding a triffid queen.
So, what killed me? Hunger? Water? A lightning bolt? No. Just myself deciding to enter in a new by foo to find gas, looking to 4 zombies and saying “Ok, let’s explore a little further.”
Cataclysm: if the nature, the zombies and the aberrations don’t kill you, sure it will be your stupidness.
I’d cleared a town with nothing but a hatchet earlier today. Took a few in-game days. Once I was done looting I was heading north.
There it was, by the side of the road, a Jabberwocky. First I’d seen. “Oooooooh!”
The hatchet didn’t work too good anymore. AT ALL. Had to pull out my pocket .45 and pop a few headshots to get the thing down. Tough SOB. Definitely a trouble maker.
The character should be able to eat or stick anything up their nose, despite whatever consequences it has on the player!
Like putting a mini nuke up your nose, or eating an acid bomb! Or a knife.
Not a good idea until stuff getting the same key is fixed.
I’m pretty sure I just coughed to hard and died. Fought a smoker, kicked his ass. Fought a wolf, kicked his ass. Decided to head home. Coughed three times, died in the street.
Jabberwock is a bastard. The very next character I played after my death by coughing, got killed by the jabberwock that spawned about 15 squares north of my evac. I was alive for about 5 minutes before it saw me, came in, and slaughtered me.
Haven’t played in a while and the first enemy Reace Usmack finds is something called a jabberwock. About three turns and he was dead. Fuck HardCore.
Next up Sus McRea goes to a town, sees a gun store and heads there. She got two blocks before brutes, shocks, smokers and a million dogs come down on her. So she Leeroy Jenkins the fuck to the gunstore. It went well until a brute slapped her arse, she slapped him back and then got a lightning bolt to the head. Moral to the story, Don’t choose hardcore and glass jaw.

I made it to winter with those and I have that game on pause, because that was on .5.
Yeah. They’re pretty tough. NPC who gave me the quest to kill one of em took it down with a Desert Eagle and around 50 shots. I am genuinely scared of those things.

I found a group of 3 NPCs, one of them gave the quest, then they noticed it, attacked it, got all killed, so I just ran without looking back.
Internal Furnace CBM + Integrated Toolset = I win!
All those books, shelves, clothes and what not all to eat and generate energy. Together with like 30 Power Storage MK2 (though, getting these takes a CRAP LOAD of time, but it’s worth it …), your dream car is not that far away.
