How did you last die?

Why have I never seen an owlbear? Everyone has seen one but me, and I’ve been playing since beginning of last year

Do you play with Magiclysm on? Because you won’t find an owlbear without that mod.

Ah, that would explain it then. LoL

I was backing up my humvee at the breakneck speed of 5ish mph and lightly tapped my nearby APC and was somehow dropped through the floor of my humvee; a moment later said humvee ran over me killing me. The moral to the story being…I have no idea still not sure how the hell it happened.

It was a couple deaths back but I thought it worth noting

Tried to crack open the 4 safes in a doctor’s office with a pipe bomb. Everything was fine until I decided to put my current weapon in my inventory before throwing the bomb instead of just dropping it.

Pipe bomb exploded in my guy’s hands. Oddly enough it did take out one safe so… mission accomplished?

2 shocker zombies attacked my horse drawn cart as I was pulling into a larger town. My followers hopped over the sides and began forming a perimeter to confront the incoming swarm. All the sudden one of my followers sailed through the air into me, opening a hole for the horde to begin pouring through.

The brute who flung my follower filed through the gap and began pummeling me and the shockers kept lighting up the area all the while. We were quickly overwhelmed and I guess after a little while, all of us got back to our feet as part of the horde. :woman_zombie::woman_zombie::woman_zombie:

Spawn naked in wilderness
Surrounded by ants
Yeah, not going to watch how that ends.

The operation was a complete success, but the patient died.

Island prison escape scenario. The plan was to make my way out the admin building and into the armory. Instead, a brute greets me as I step out, plank in hand, totally not ready for it, and unites my face with a door.

Ants are fine as long as you’re quiet and don’t get too close. Only the soldiers are hostile by default, and like the rest they’re half blind. I would just try to carefully weave through them.
Don’t try to do that with razorclaws, though, their anger trigger is much more touchy, and being swarmed by those is even nastier than ants. Learned that the hard way once. RIP

Starting a lightly modded game, I chose a scenario that I THOUGHT would start me in summer instead of spring, so day 92-ish. Actually started summer of year 2, day 455. I walked to the nearest town expecting the usual spread of zombies…But what I got was skeletal juggernauts playing catch the car with incandescent hulks, headless horrors, gibbering snotlings, corrosive zombies and giant boomers. Everything had evolved to it’s final form…FML

Fun fact, grappler zombies will grab you and drag you all over creation while everything else chases. That was a fun death cam, with this result:

I just had something interesting happen. My character had really good night vision, due to a lucky roll of the mutations serums. I came across a bandit ambush point on a road, but as soon as my character was able to see him he fired on me. Me, with high night vision was only just barely able to see him appear and he fired full auto. How was this bandit able to see me, if “I” was the one more able to see in the dark?

In any case, he riddled me with holes.

Do you play with mutant NPCs on? Because if you do it’s possible he had high night vision.

I suppose it’s possible, because yes I do play with that on. Hmmm. . .

Guess travelling by night won’t be as “I Win” safe anymore. I’m not upset by this, as it adds a level of strategy that needs to be planned for. I was just wondering how it could happen (I didn’t know that designated bandits would be affected by the NPC Mutations mod).

What’s the mutant equivalent range of night vision goggles? Does any one by chance know?

Full night vision I believe.

Fairly new to the game - bounced on and off it a bit for years, finally got pretty into it lately. Tend to roll completely random characters and scenarios, see how they do. Often, I learn something important when I die.

For instance, before you throw an EMP grenade, it works better if you activate it first.

Wandered too close to an open sewer. Was attacked by five technician zombies. Log looked something like:

The technician zombie grabs your MP5+2!
You wield your Mossberg 500.
The technician zombie grabs your Mossberg 500!
You draw your Glock 19.
The technician zombie grabs your Glock 19!
You wield your Beretta M9.
The technician zombie grabs your Beretta M9!
You wield your USP 9mm.
The technician zombie grabs your USP 9mm!
You wield your hatchet.
The technician zombie grabs your hatchet!
You wield your crowbar.
The technician zombie grabs your crowbar!

…in between taking hits from three regular zombies who had decided to attack me at that moment.

In my latest run I’ve tried to stay as far away from technician spawns as possible. It’s served me well.

“Oh-kaay, son, do you have a permit for that?”

BTW, thanks for heads-up. I’m quite new to the game and it never occurred to me something might come OUT of that manhole deep behind the established perimeter. Paranoia to the max now…

Great strategy! Overload them with your gear until they’re too overburdened to fight

Seriously though, yikes!
