Adding a mod to a world

The last safe build before the nested containers dropped and broke all the mods is 10615. There’s an (extremely) stripped down version of Blaze Industries available that works with 10615, according to SouP (author). You could install 10615 to a new folder and drag and drop the contents of cata/previous_version + your saves to the new install of 10615. Most likely you’ll end up with something functional.

That’s just the first of many mod related errors, I’m sure. if you took advanced tech out, there’ll probably be another crash referencing a different mod. And Adv Tech is like…4th mod down in my mods folder, I dunno about yours.

No luck with 10615, and yeah it is the 4th mod down. The full error which I now got on blackscreen is:

Looks the same as the one from the latest Experimental. So looks like I cannot update at all :frowning: I can try a new world I suppose, and see.

Well crap, Advanced Technologies doesn’t work on a new world either…son of a…

Edit: Maybe if I go back to 10606 that was working and ported over the blazeindustries bit it’ll work?

I expect the version available from 10618 and later will have many changes that will make it incompatible with stuff prior to 10618. There was also a new damage-type added around the same PR as nested containers and probably other stuff I’m not aware of because I haven’t made the jump.

SouP said on the discord that THIS version should work pre 10618. But it doesn’t have a lot of the content that blazemod has. I don’t know what’s in it, haven’t gone digging.
Around the same time he said something about tanks being independent? I didn’t inquire further at the time. Help me out here, @SouP.

Latest experimental, currently it’s 10628

So I’ll probably have to wait awhile or dump advanced technologies it seems like. :frowning: I’m not up to this task now, I’ll have to give it a whirl later. Go through each mod … one at a time and see. New damage type sounds fun!

Oh and overwrite these mods by copying and pasting them into the cdda/data/mods folder every time you update the game

Which version were you calling latest at this point? I’ll need to rollback or forward to wherever you were working.

This one works perfectly fine with 10644 apart from minor negligible errors that can be easily Shift+ied
