The idea I had in mind would require you to get to the hospital (or wherever the machine happens to be) once, to install a battery container and power routing system. You could then plug in new batteries by opening a hatch in your side or something similar. More complicated CBM’s could potentially require dedicated surgery.

This would mean more venturing into town, which is something I currently avoid in favour of picking off mansions and more isolated establishments. Risk/reward tradeoffs make for tempting challenges.
One could have single-use installation kits for “easy” cbms (a craftable item), while labs, hospitals, maybe even a military bunker room, has install bots for the big things.
