My alter ego went east instead of west this time. I killed a load of Zs (megastore and a house that something went smash-smash in, attracting a TON of Zs) and dumped lots of loot into my Loot Cart. Had to make a makeshift fire pit in a lull in fighting to cook the meat of the coyote the Zs killed since it rots really fast in the summer. Then as she wanted to go back to base, she discovered she can’t drag it all back. Strained herself to the point of being unable to drag the cart. And to top it, she was dead tired.
Suffice to say it was a good idea I dropped a large tent in the cart. I slummed two more nights in the tent and determined max drag weight is roughly 175 kg with her current strength (7).
I’m still looking for a way to make a still - however, even when I make it, making t-tornado will be difficult due to the meat rotting ultra fast. It’s not even 20 degrees C.
Right now, i play with random spawning NPCs for the first time… they are a nightmare, but for some reason keep avoiding the small settlement(literally just 4 houses) that i cleared and made into my base. Hope they keep doing that, but i started hiding stockpiles of food in basements of neighbouring town, in case they raid my house. Can anyone think of any good NPC deterrents? I think they are avoiding my town, since it’s completely cleared and all houses have closed curtains so they don’t see the random crap that’s inside.
Also, the only guy that gave me a quest, now lies on a minefield - and i can’t even see his body…
keeping them outside the reality bubble. Though that tends to make them pile up in a big circle till they are unavoidable. Approaching one that you are a match for, and trying to befriend them. Then working your way up the list. Mandatory that you have the ability to be faster than them, just in case. Keeping all high value, low weight items away from windows, and other places they may gain line of sight of them. Thats bout all I got.
They don’t see stuff in vehicles, and I’m fairly certain that they see stuff the same way you do - that is, if it’s on/in a piece of furniture so that you can’t see it unless you’re next to it, neither can they.
I keep NPC spawn rate VERY low for these kinds of reasons (like 0.03 or so).

Very much this. The world is supposed to essentially desolate anyways. To many survivors irritates me and creates the reality bubble border patrol. Much better to have them come in ones… every now and then, and no more often.
These fuckers don’t react to any distractions and wander randomly. They already almost destroyed my brand new car (AND MY FENCE!) and I am afraid they are going to get inside my house and wrech the shit out of it. Or find my car nearby and do the same. Suggest how to deal with them. I don’t have mininuke nor do I have dynamites.
Abandon all hope, and that base. Or lure some other monstrosity that might actually have an interest in killing dancers… like an army of moose, or more likely something a bit stronger.

Based on my interactions with them, the dancers try to get to the thriller, but I THINK the thriller tries to come to you, it just generally can’t make much headway because of all the dancers. If you hang out in the area for a while, the thriller will make its way towards you, bringing the horde with him.
Actually killing a horde like that is a PAIN - dancers are basically hulks that won’t attack (they have drops like hulks, butcher like hulks, and most relvantly, hurt cars like hulks when run over). As someone else suggested, finding some way to kill the thriller then lead all the hulks away.
Last time I dealt with a thriller, I used a tesla cannon (vehicle add-ons pack), but any source of chain lightning can eventually kill the thriller (it doesn’t regenerate like the dancers). I had some laser cannons and a mounted A7 to kill the horde (while backing up, if necessary), but I couldn’t get them all butchered before they started spontaneously getting back up… yeah, as far as joke monsters go, the thriller/dancer horde is definitely the toughest.
