What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

New Game, Day 02.

I woke up on the outskirts of a small town. The bunkie was firing her remington off at a small group of zombies, allowing me to fnd her and some shoes. I convinced her to stop talking about her mom or dog or whatever and come with me; probably because Im so pretty. Outside, a nearby triffid grove with a large radius of territory was harrassng the zombies in town, creating a little extra confusion.

Traveling away from the town out into the dark, we looped back to obscure our scent and began moving from house to house. A short dstance down the street I lost track of her as she went shooting zombies in the distance. With her persumed dead, I was on me own, dressed enough to be ‘very cold’ but not dying as I walked.

I spent the night vainly searching this tiny size 3 or 4 town for a working car. Several were dismantled by spitters and soldiers, it was in a garage where I took a moment of respirate and found a rebar. Slowly sharpening the rebar, I creating a working spear from the piece of metal. not long after I finished did a small group of zombies stream into the garage, fleeing from a triffid queen who crushed the walls of the house, forcing me to flee.

Finding dead soldiers, I scavanged their pants and jackets, and plumped up like a child on a cold day, I swashed my way through town until I got to the southernmosty house, a flashlight on a corpse where ants had been fighting zeds, and the rising sun. I crafted during the day, making enough to level my sewing to 1. I fabricated myself the wooden needle, and read 3 level 1 skill books; cooking, driving, and survival. Not the best, but by far a better use of my time than waiting or going outside. I had tried that, and was greeted with a trio of crawling zombies, 2 greenies, and a pair of acidic zombies. Some children chased me inside where I used the acidic pools to kill them despite my poor combat skills.

On the second night I traveled north and east through the center of town, avoiding problems and looting small amounts as permitted by my armor. I saw a lost soul group kill a tank, because despite their lowly status they have high dodge and can do a whooping amount of damage if they hit enough. Up to 15. So figure 1d15 akttack damage, 12 tank armor, 13, 14, 15 3/15 = 20% or 1 in 5 attacks did damage to it, and there were 7 of them. Took a while, but I was looting sheets and curtains for a nearby fire truck I found. Driving off south out fo town, I found an evac center, where I spent the night looting window shades.

In the morning I found triffids in the truck, and I had to rebar them to death. Good to see my skill is now 1 stabby. I took off west, and found a milsepc turret that I ducked around and a second, standard police turret with cars that I plan to bait and swap the truck with its damaged windows out for.

My jackhammer (UPS) is not using any battery power when I activate. It just stays at 400. Is this a bug? Do I need to update?

What is the best way to destroy milspec turrets? My .50 cal API don’t penetrate it very often.

If you have an UPS/ advanced UPS/ UPS CBM to charge it it will stay at 400… At least that’s my version.
If you are not using one of these, though, then that’s the problem. Try use a newer version then.

use invisibility CBM/ optical cloak/ power armor of any kinds/ a opaque vehicle/ a wall to get near, then use control laptop.
Or get a high throwing skill and hurl EMP grenades from afar. These things are cheap.

Summer, day 30.

My alter ego welded two cargo carriers onto an electric bike. However, I found out she can’t drag it, so I picked another cargo carrier and swapped it for a shopping cart, thus creating a Loot Cart ™. She spent the night (and half the day) slowly making her way through Robots for Profit and was famished at the end, so I went back to the original shelter.

The moose and bear which made me abandon the place were still there. I pelted the moose with the bullets till it dropped because I wanted FOOD, and killed the bear in the same way because it was right next to the fire pit. I ate and drank, slept in the basement, then I picked up some stuff which I left in the shelter because it wasn’t crucially important and dragged my ass back to the base.

Since the Loot Cart has so much storage, I left some food and water and a rollmat and a sleeping bag in it - I will be able to sleep anywhere I want now. I might drop a tent or a large tent in for added bonus.

InstaCamp Cart ™ ?

I don’t have any CBM installed, but I did install a UPS modification on the jackhammer. But it makes no sense. Shouldn’t the charge be used up by using the jackhammer, which would then require you to put it into a UPS compatible vehicle mounted charger to recharge it?

I have not used UPS’ that often, but I think what you need to put on the UPS itself (not the UPS compatible tool) on the charging port. On the item browser, it says to place tools with rechargeable batteries on the port, but to me, putting the UPS on there makes more sense, since the UPS is what has the actual power source (the UPS-compatible thingy just lets the tool run off UPS power, it does not a charge of power itself). It probably won’t work, but it’s worth a shot.

The problem is it looks like I have unlimited power in the tool. It makes no sense.

There are two open issues about that.

Well, so far it looks very cool and seems that bunch of tentacles turned me into melee-invulnerable-karate-death-machine (cuz karate provides dodge+2blocks for successful attacks and the character is able to hit up to 9 times per round).

what does US Marshal mean exactly under traits and how did you get it?

You are recognized by police and security bots as an officer of the law, and as such are considered friendly by them. You get it by picking one of the police starts.

I assume that for lore purposes all your recorded misdeeds sent to a database for your permanent record and piled up until a higher up gets to them and demotes/ penalizes you for breaking and entering, drug use, trespassing without a warrant etc…

That’s what it exactly means.

This is how I get it. (for completing some of the Old Guard quests)

Damn, im going to have to go find a refugee center now and do that, seems realluy useful.

actualy its not realy usefull, no scrap farm by hugging a eyebot

Trying to make myself not be so nomadic/wandering, and failing…

no new loot if you become stationary. Its nice to have a base of operations, but typically its best if your main base is a vehichle, at least once you get through about the 2md town, or sooner.

Likely true but I seem to end up as a nomadic wanderer, strolling, or running frantically, from town to town. Vehicle based just doesn’t seem to be my playstyle… It cuts me off from somethings I know but I do like it.

fair enough then I suppose you will rather have several scattered stashes around the world.

That I do. And a whole bunch of places tagged on the map for if/when I get the NPC missions. But alas all they seem to want me to do is die trying to kill jabberwockies.

I’m just hoping to find a police station so I can grab a deputy badge.
