What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Quick question, can i put a clean water tank into a vehicle and still be able to put a funnel on it, or does that only work for external tanks? Also, if i mount a flamethrower to the front of my vehicle, does it fire automatically or do i have to manually control it somehow?

dwarves are the best. From the legends like Bomrek the blind 1-footed war champion with scarbs over 95% of his body to the militia recruite with every broken bones to Lisid the no-thumbed bookkeeper.

Even the prisoners of dwarves or tits. The zombie who lets himself be chained up and that one ogress who took on a fire-spewing forgotten beast after it melted her bonds and saved us all by occupying it with wrestling as she melted.

Water in tanks can be filled manually or with any funnel on a vehicle. doesnt have to be over it.

To make any turret work you should install “electronic control unit”. Then select the fire mode, and then turn them on. Depending on what fire mode you choose (1-automatic single shot, B-automatic burst shot, M/m - manual single/burst shot (maybe it means that. I still can shoot manually even if turrets turned off).
But flamethrowers cannot burst, so it doesn’t matter. I got two from sides of the car. Nice thing against the triffids.

Thanks, slowly making process on this vehicle. Converted a flatbed truck into a 6x6 drive-train vehicle. Has spiked rams on the front and im in the process of walling off the back of the bed and putting a door on it to make it into a sort of mini-RV.

Holy shit, is there any way to wear something like a CPAP mask in-game that will stop my character from waking up when sleeping due to asthma?

cpap? :o

while Id love to expand on detrimental medical conditions ( like allergies or disability ) I dont see cpap being a standard part of the game.

can you make homemade breathing vapor? that is medically accepted as working?

could make a mod for it, with like lua knowledge? idk how do iuse function or if thatd work to supress asthema. Id love to be able to define my own syndromes

Lol, CPAP is for people with sleep apnea (people who just stop breathing when they sleep), figured that could be used in this context since i would imagine that a constant flow of air into the character would stop him/her from sperging out due the asthma.

But refills. Theyre expensive enough now, and outside of medical supply areas it wouldnt be available.

Its like junk food; itll be around at first, but I dont think there will be too many potato chips in the apocolypse after a few years. Though, I did some more looking, and animal populations are down like 90+% by the end of the first year. So presumably humans are dying off at an exponential rate and you can find these limited supplies.

Wait so installed the electronic system control thingy, but now i can’t “configure” my turrets, what am i doing wrong?

Summer, day 13.

One of the roads in the southern part of the city was mined, so I had to go around the next night. One of the houses is trapped, too.

The road south leads to a small townlet of four or five houses. I’m currently there smacking Zs around with my zweihander.

Other than that, not much to report - the days have been sleep, read, hunt for something to eat, eat, sleep. Eh, my alter ego gets tired fairly quickly in the summer (as do I, lol)

Oh boy…

The one character I made with asthma, I discarded after two sleepless nights in a row. SO not worth it. This game was obviously coded by insomniacs because it’s impossible to go back to sleep if you’re interrupted.

Made a world with a little more space between the cities and I like it much more. The wide-open spaces between the towns make things feel a little more lonely and remote.

Right now I’m parking my Hammerhead next to swamps. I read inside with the doors closed until I run out of food, then go out and harvest giant mosquitoes and whatnot, refill my canteens with filthy water and return to my mobile lair. Never done a game nomad-style but this is fun!

For a profession that can “drop targets from implausible distances”, my bionic sniper can’t aim worth shit. I’ve just wasted an entire clip of my M2010 trying to kill a turret less than 20 tiles away.

skill.

and consider throwing pipe bombs at it

Is there any sort of hydroponics or indoor grow beds in the game?

No, but I have heard that you can plant anywhere you can make a mound of dirt, so long as it’s warm enough, so drug basements can work, among other things. Hydroponics would be very nice and has been requested for a while.

Finally, I ascended above the lesser creatures. After a week in lab, at the third floor I found the Smythe journal and after the long days of zed butchering and mutagen crafting I become Cephalopod. Smart to the point, when just can’t forget things.
Well, so far it looks very cool and seems that bunch of tentacles turned me into melee-invulnerable-karate-death-machine (cuz karate provides dodge+2blocks for successful attacks and the character is able to hit up to 9 times per round).

So, after an extended hiatus, I’ve finally managed to get a character past the first day: an infected computer hacker. Started out in the middle of nowhere in a military surplus. Got lucky with several first aid kits stocked, though the rest of the stock was useless to me. Predictably enough, though, I caught the flu before the first day was out. No medicine to be had, sadly. Fortunately, I was blessed with an intact and running armored car next to a gas station with diesel dispensers, so I’ve been able to avoid kung fu in favor of car fu. The starting NPC died horribly to a mi-go, which I ran over shortly thereafter. Was able to obtain a pitchfork, winter coat and cargo pants from a nearby ranch, as well as non-perishables, a survival knife and a few other supplies from a field campsite. Left town and headed toward the nearest (read: distant) evac shelter, where I was able to bang together a makeshift hammer and a screwdriver to go with my makeshift crowbar. Still need a wrench, though. Reached the outskirts of the next town. Hopefully the pickings will be better.

Summer, day 21.

The house with traps, it turns out, was a good way to thin the Zs a bit without me doing anything. I guess a lone Z stumbled in, triggered a trap, the noise brought more Zs to investigate and they then blew up more traps. I heard lots of explosions from that direction. When my alter ego walked past the house, I noticed a light source.

‘Hmmm? What is it?’

The light source turned out to be an atomic nightlight, so I’m all set! No more having to wait for the day to craft/read!

Summer, day 27.

Powerful enough to go about smacking Zs in full daylight.

My welding woes ended finally - there is a second town just next to the city, and the town had a garage, and the garage had a welding cart!

Still need a still to be able to make t-tornado.
