Ive been having a real dickens of a time finding books. No libraries, 1 bookstore full of crap, and no welders.
So Ive got level 3 mechanics and electronics, but no fucking welder. No way to make it, no nearby garages, and with .33 item spawns no real chance of finding this stuff I desperately need to move this gravy train along.
Im irritated. The new gateway is lack of books. I cant auto learn the welder, and so Im sitting with a decomposing military cargo truck full to the brim with various degrees of crap and no clear direction but ‘Find the suddenly super rare books’. Which isnt easy, since now Ive got to the point where Im at utter capacity, even on my person. Ive taken to making map notes of loots.
In the dark, I found a pair of milspec turrets. afte rplaying with them a little, baiting them into shooting the vehicle they spawn with, a sizable horde came by and ate them. This of course was when an npc decided to try to rob me, in the dark with a horde 2 feet from him and nowhere to hide. So when I told him to shove a fuzzy cactus up his backside he jumped on the trucks back and rode in the vehicle, firmly seated. I tried dislodging him with sudden stops and baiting zombies into the back too, but he had a bat and the skills to use it. I was even able to make 4 ammo pouches for mags without incurring his wrath. He was planted.
He got out randomly when I was checking out the swanky new public restrooms. I also noted that a firehouse was made of bricks. But - I also noticed that I couldnt raise the door to get in. bug? Probably.
I found a copy of under the hood, and all my woes are gone 5 or 6 days later. Oh sure, it was rough for the first day or three, but I have a purifier in, a chem set in, more storage, and all my guns in a row. I have 4 glcok mags, so guess what Im using? Ive al;so go a single barrel shotgun in reserve, but I know enough about those to know I wouldnt put my life on it.
I have a few black powder bombs in reserve, and found a few dynamite and c4 in crates. I have my signiture steel spear, and I even found the ice pick, which is rapidly becoming my favorite utilitarian weapon.
