What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?
I just found enough supplies at a LMOE shelter to not only flesh out what my character was missing (hammer, wrench, wood axe, wood saw, gun, ammo for gun, magizine, skillbook, enough food for 2 weeks), but even had I had nothing, it had everything but a tailoring kit in it.

I disapprove of this :[
Lucky you, I have found ones that have nothing but vacuum sealers and empty AKs in them.

What the hell I’m supposed to do with seven AKs? Throw them at zombies?

Locate metal compactor.
Convert 6 AKs into scrap metal.
Turn scrap metal into lead.
Craft reloaded ammunition.
Shoot AKs with your AKs.

I did a lot of drugs to install a CBM, but then had no books to read (book reading is the best way of waiting out that meth exhaust-but-no-sleep thing). So I went for a trip to the forest to pick some shrooms.
I didn’t realize how much do stimulants help with foraging. Backpackfuls of acorns and shrooms every few steps.

shroom spawns are attribuite related?

i guess they depend on survival, and that is int or per linked.

guess what skill i dont really level up often

My current character, Jermaine Stauffer, is almost dead from smoke inhalation. I didn’t even know this was possible; I was just trying to stay warm. At least I’ll have a bunch of items for my next character to find.
Edit: He died :frowning: RIP police officer Jermaine Stauffer.

try 3 adrenaline shoots in short order, no adiction, short str bonus and long int bonus

Lighting fires indoors. Not good for your health. You need a wood stove, a fireplace, or a fire ring (More Survival Tools) to contain smoke. A deep pit, oven, or PLACED brazier (not dropped) will contain fire, but not smoke.

Modifying my Police Car. It was about 800 kg of weight at the start. Added two tank of water, kitchen unit, additional power storage, solar panel, 2 additional wheels, military composite armor, turret and anvil in a trunk. So now it’s more than a 2 tn. I’m affraid that is too much of modification for my little V8

Day 14.

I read a book on fabrication and then I went out. The two dogs that have been roaming around got dangerously close so I put them down. It’s not dusk yet so I might work on carving a road through the forest so that I can take the shorter route to the western town.

If you have plenty of matches/lighter fluid you could just burn all the things. If you dont care too much about the lumber burning and the ashes left over.

Don’t I know it. There were several characters between MM and MMR.

Guys. Just light trees on fire so you can heat up your burrito.

So . . . I spent the night at Jail. For ‘just visiting’ there were sure a lot of people trying to meat and eat me.

First, a eyebot was floating around. I ignored it and parked. singular teams of brute/zombiebitch came out 2 at a time to mess wtih me. While Im competent enough to kill them I havent yet gotten good armor or th skill to beat them without taking a ride on the Tower of Power. So unavoidable damage there.

Then, I remember that I dont have a) a way to get in and b) a way past the secubot. so I go back and craft 2 EMPs, which meant disassembling a couple flashlights. Good thing I read up in preperation of finding the recipe book for welding rig.
After taking apart and reassembling electrongics, I kill a few more brutes that hit me, and then toss in a grenade to realize there are 2 secubots :<

Still, I have a rifle and I read to level 2 marksman. So 2 grenades later and a single bullet I now have to actually get in. Im hoping to find either armor or a grenade launcher. How do get in though?

A car outside was missing a seat, so I replaced it and drove the car into the prison. That went nowhere, and the cars engine crapped out right in front of the bars. gdi.
I climb over the bars, taking a whooping 42 damage from the fall, falling on my ass, and then cutting my clothing.

I find no loot topside, and go below to find 4 whole teargas grenades.

On top of that I find my humvee being subjected to a search for contraband by 8 to 10 riotbots. Looks like I failed to spot that eybot was taking my picture. asshole. I had to climb out of jail and take more damage on the way out, btw.

A waste of my time, several bandages, and now I have no thread and no long string, no clean water, no recipe for the welding rig, and no spare flashlights for w.e. purposes.

On the bright side I did try out the % menu. And its nifty, but I still kind of prefer the old way.

= = = = =

Oh goodies. I found 2 wreckage by the side of the road. Elite grenadier and grenadier.

They brought out th mininukes.

Tailoring Simulator 2016. Or more like thread gathering simulator.

I just watched 3+ hours and 400 thread tick by with zero feedback (no fail or success or any msgs) trying to upgrade a simple shirt.

With that kind of rate I’ll need to spend days disassembling to get enough thread to do a few pieces.

Maybe the clothing shops should have 1000’s of thread since apparently thread consumption is up. Hi sir, sure, we can add a button to your shirt. That’ll be 4 hours and $2000 worth of thread. No problemo.

I get that the devs are generally sadistic but this is a bit silly. I don’t see things like this as increasing difficulty. Tedium, timesink, and unfun don’t equate to difficulty.

It’s been a while. Decided to roll up a man-at-arms, in the humble shelter. Also giving Artyom’s Gun Emporium plus Noctifier’s Survival mod and Bio-Weapon mod a try. Tiny baby town just west of the shelter. As in literally just 2 houses and a jewelry store. And just north of THAT is a 3-house town. I didn’t even fuck with city size or spacing. :V

Oh well. Makes my mission to retrieve the start NPC’s dog easier.

So, as it would turn out, the “missed” scenario isn’t nearly worth the possibility of spawning with guns, free books, or pawnshop loot. I lost no less than ten characters trying to beat those odds. Trying to make it out with an NPC didn’t help matters.

I’m doing much better now that I’ve gone back to “Evacuee”. Having a definite start on the edge of town and being able to use the ample resources provided by the shelter.

So one of those houses was the abandoned type anyway. There’s a survivor’s camp thingy south, and a survivor RV in this mini-hamlet.

Guess what’s ALSO here? A few dozen basic zeds I’m scrambling to keep from mauling the dog. How the FUCK does a 3-building town have so many undead?! D:

EDIT: The power of the kite shield compels you, foul revenants! Purged the lot of them, and I emerge unscathed. Backpack took a minor nick though.

Reinforcing was one of the biggest timesinks around. Now that you don’t need to do it and in fact shouldn’t do it at low levels, the tedium is gone from the optimal gameplay.

The best kind of tedium: one that teaches you proper game mechanics by punishing you for your mistakes and goes away as soon as you figure out how to do it right.

My reasoning here is that resolved that element of tedium by approaching it from the wrong direction. Players are STILL going to reinforce their gear, are still going to endure tedium that was never actually removed, and now for little benefit. >_>

Meanwhile…rescued the derp dog. Stupid thing has started attacking when it’s left in passive mode, but not when in aggressive mode. I think it was triggered by displacing it. This has happened before. Has this been reported yet? -_-

I only messed with dogs once and that would explain why it died, it did happened a while back so I am not sure.
