What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Shoulda screencapped it, but on day 13, my HQ (public works) burnt down. I lost two vehicles - notably a modded cop car - a cache of weapons, tools, the whole nine yards. I did manage to rescue ~10 CBM mods before the fire took the rest. It happened on account of a nearby minefield attracting hordes. Not entirely sure what happened, but the cop car exploded. I almost managed to put out the flames ferrying bottled water, but the building frame caught and that was that. I regretted shirking that large fire extinguisher just prior. Hadn’t ever been an issue, after all…

Retreated with a basic toolset and a TEC-9. It didn’t take more than a day or two to get mobile again with a new car - swap out broken seats for new ones. Something something eggs in one basket. Back to campfire cooking…

Testing out the power of the thundergun. Seems fairly decent, though the range kind of makes it risky as firing it at four tiles away or less will damage the vehicle it’s set on. Shot is useless as it’s max range is 3 plus an extra one by the thundergun. So it’s either slugs or flechettes. It can also burst fire, and with trigger happy as a trait this happens fairly often during single fire mode. Burst fire will kill a lot of nearby zombies dead, but if you’re not careful in positioning the thing it’ll shred the vehicle frames real quick, especially the foldable sheet.

The shrapnel seems to do the most damage, it seems, as I tested the potency of it by spawning a shoggoth and a tank drone. A single shot dealt less than 100 damage to each, but the explosion and shrapnel from the shot seems to have killed them before the second shot of burst fire happened.

Gonna try to level up launchers skill though, so the shots from the thundergun will be more potent.

Blunderbuss slugs and flechettes are quick to craft, in any case. Both require 16 gunpowder, and either a scrap metal or a glass shard, which takes 30 seconds to make. 20 ammo takes ten minutes, and 1000 ammo (one shot is equals one volume) takes 16k gunpowder and 1k glass/scrap, and takes less than a day to do, so as long as I have spare gun ammo to disassemble thundergun ammo can be quickly crafted.

just your standard run of the mill invisozoms. in low light you dont see them unless theyre attacking you or you have a way to see them that isnt roygbiv

Never heard of these. They added in the newest experimental or something?
Fairly recent. Now you will fear the night. o3o

Playing a Medieval Churl, decided to model the starting items to fit a deserter of a guard post.
Being illiterate was a challenge at the beginning, but after slaughtering zombies with my medieval martial arts + broadsword, it was easy to gather books and find a NPC that could read it for me.

I just updated to the Latest Experimental, and I managed to pick this up from a Pawn Shop. I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with my first PR Merge in the Latest Experimental. Fuck yea, non-battle ready swords! I look forward to finding my first truly authentic sword with the spawn rate changes.

Also, now I’m on yet another new world. With a new folder… And a slight annoyance that a few things aren’t working right. Oh well!

Day 5, afternoon.

I went back to that electric car during the day. Turns out it’s right next to a small warehouse, which houses a near-perfect flatbed. I wanted to take off the wheels to stick them on that humvee next door, but forgot I need a jack to do this.

I guess I’ll go back to where I saw a car with a jack in the back and then work on the cars. Or I’ll go loot some new houses I spotted on the horizon

Did you know you can attach rail-mounted crossbows to crossbows? I’m now the proud owner of a “recursive” crossbow, heh. Puns.

Hnnng. :V

The hordes were too thick to handle, so I’m camping in a Humvee parked on the edge of town while I recover my health. I tore out all but the driver’s seat, curtained the windows, and built a bed in the back. I’ve been relying on makeshift welders and duct tape since the only garage I’ve found in the ~20 days since this began held nothing of particular value. My axe is sharp and my handgun, loaded.

Save the duct tape and go for the welding rig. You need a book to teach it but with enough electronics to read the book and 4 fab, 4 mech you can put an end to battery lose.

First guy in a new world and for some reason with no fungaloid towers or anything like that nearby there are fungaloids everywhere. The city and the surroundings are just filled with them. Something tells me I’m going to have an annoying time playing this character.

nah, fungus are less aggressive than Zmen, and convert Zmen regularly. Spores and the gunaloids everywhere are annoying, but whats stopping you from moving away then? Just focus on getting a mask or fungicide.

Heh. Only a mask? Poor, sad little human, we are undeterred by this pitiful protection.

Seriously, get a hazmat suit or some other source of full-body environmental protection.

Oh? I know Ive gotten infected while wearing a filter mask and living in Fugalton.

Actually when I was posting about how I died on the road to coguhing fungal spores that happened.

Oh o.o Closet Lab

Well there’s your problem. X3

Training the launchers skill by using a mountable ripper. The lil’ Gunner was modified and remade into the Mr. Ripper. Shaped like the t tetris block, three cargo carriers with nothing but serrated discs.

In general, it can one-shot pretty much most zombies, though most of them don’t get gibbed on hit. Can gib corpses if I fire a few more discs at them.

Character is in mid summer on 91 day seasons. Doing well and decided to go reloot the first city I started in. Going back to get all the safes and stuff that I had tagged on the map that I couldn’t deal with in the beginning. Was tearing apart an electric car for solar panels when all of a sudden I exploded. Pain shot through the roof at 600+ and 3 of my four limbs were broken/explodeded. Further inspection revealed a stick of dynamite was mysteriously missing from my inventory. I have since been hiding in the back of my assault raider for what seems like weeks eating rice and cornbread while only 2 of my 3 splinted limbs have started healing.

I can has survived the dynamite

Spazmo fingers strikes again!

I blew up the armoured car. I was inside it at the time. I mean, it didn’t explode per se but I made one little mistake and turned it all to scrap. It doesn’t help that the welding rig was destroyed in the process. Otherwise, it might have been recoverable. At least my cache is still in one piece…

…same sort of thing as your adventure, Excalibur.

Don’t ya hate when you accidentally activate an explosive… I’ve done it 3 times twice with grenades and once with a flash bang every single time im right on my loot pile and have no where to throw it.
