What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

9mm is EASILY the most common ammo in the game - turrets have it (among other things).

I was wondering why my radiogenic character was having trouble staying irradiated…

every scurity van in existence has an h&k pistol with exactly 100 rounds. and they spawn outside of every office tower.

True. In any case I’m having fun burst firing at large groups of zombies.

It’s also winter. Crops have been harvested before autumn ended, and I can bring the Sluggernaut to the new base with all the perishable goods… still, winter is long, and I can afford to let that wait for a while longer. Bringing the Sluggernaut more or less means I can now get work done on the garage, and after finishing making the fort, I wanna have a little time to explore before I construct the garage.

Also, for some reason, I’m finding curry powder on fast food joints. Like, I dunno, the first ingredient I can think of in fast food places isn’t curry.

Exactly 100 rounds of 4.6mm ammo, you mean. More than enough to get you out of an “oh shit” moment or two, but not going to see you through unless supplemented with other guns and ammo raided from stores or gun basements. owo

Its a lab raid’s worth of ammo.

Ive got like 500 of the things since I primarily use melee. I also try to ‘stagger’ my power, with a weak silenced rifle and a powerful handgun and vice versa

I have seen the vans that have only the pistol and I have seen vans with 200 rounds of 4.6mm, so it does vary. It’s not a bad pistol either to be so easily obtained.
OTOH now that the L39B has a proper pic ingame I find myself using it more and more (for some reason I just don’t like using stuff that looks like a big C before I pick it up).

So a little bit before the beginning of autumn I harvested some strawberries. I had doubts that the ones I harvested would be enough to make a keg full of strawberry surprise, so I planted lots of them - one last time in the old base. After planting, I went about to craft strawberry surprise from the strawberries I already had.

It filled a keg, and then some. So… as I harvested the last batch of crops in the old base, I got about 3.5k of strawberries, ready to be transported to the new base. So many strawberry surprise to craft, and might as well make fruit juice and kompot and several other fruit items.

Next time for sure, smaller farm areas.

Spring, day 56.

It’s the night and my alter ego is making her way towards the subway and an electronics store roughly in the center of the town.
I hop off my electric scooter and see a huge boomer. I think, okay, I can deal with it. Once it’s dead and the bile wore off, I see a feral predator, and slightly farther away a pile of green Zs and a Z brute. Getting them away from the scooter involved some dancing, but right now all of them are dead and I only suffered scratches.

Still can’t deal with hulks or corrosives, though. Need to train my guns skills :frowning:

First day went well. Went scavenging in a house or five, found some good stuff, including two pistols and their ammo as well as a wood axe that I’m making good use of.
Threw myself in an abandoned storefront for now, at the city’s edge. There’s a hardware store close by and a gun shop across the street. Gonna have to push south to get some stuff from the garage to break in, tho.

I mentioned a while back about the milspec turrets I set up on the fort firing at something. Much to my horror, I discovered that one fired in a direction that had lockers that stored my money bundles and jewelry, destroying pretty much all of them. Gold and silver bars, and diamonds were safe.

The HP-degenerating dude has found a vibrator with a stack of batteries in an electronics shop.
Now he HAS to use it to survive, otherwise he degenerates more hp than he regenerates during sleep.
Sounds like the kind of a story a fujoshi would come up with.

EDIT: Some of the other random mutations he has acquired are claws, feline eyes+vision and padded feet.
The plot thickens.

I gave in. I enjoy long periods of crafting, I like digging around and making rooms underground, but I don’t enjoy constructing above ground anymore. I used map editor to make the garage and bar above ground; stone walls, and the room leading to the underground town is reinforced concrete.

I do have the materials and the amount to build all of those, so at the very least I took those building materials that was supposed to be built by my survivor’s hand and fed them to the shoggoth.

The rest of the materials; such as furniture like wooden tables will still be constructed by my survivor.

Well that presents a hilariously disturbing mental image.

The vibrator-dependent catboy got beaten up by a hulk (2 hulks, but managed to lose one in a forest) for being a bundle of stnot training dodge.
Maybe if he had some meth on him he could survive that.
Kids, don’t do vibrators. Do meth instead.

Words of wisdom. Or something.

Spent the first two days crafing some gea in the evac shelter (bow, arows, quiver). Did not bother with the NPC in there saying,“I will do thier mission AFTER I am ready”. About to finish, needed some more leather, npc dies from infection, “oh,shit”, npc has leather backpack, “sweet!!!”

Early Fall.

I made a jackhammer for the purpose of making a rock addition to the warehouse. I swapped my regular wood door for an iron one, and will do the same for the window I plan to remove to make a portal though. Me and Nubbles have begun the walls for the building.

Space around the warehouse is limited due to the river surrounding us on 3 sides. So expansions will have to be underground if at all. Not that that seems safe or anything, but this is video games, logic need not apply.

More meat rotted, this time ant meat when they opposed my efforts to rob the sarcophogus of its delicious metal pipes. Im dying to fully explore the underground of the town, but Im happy enough knowing its there. First I want to officially ‘move in’ and maybe do some more mapping. I wish there was more incentive to go trying to store food or not explore in the winter, but no such luck. Maybe one day ice and snow and blizzards will be things.

I lost my toolbox and hammer. Its times like this where I wonder if the game didnt glitch them out of existence or I somehow forgot them somehow. Ill add them to the list of things floating in the ‘void’. With the binoculars and robotics book.

Ohhh, speaking of robots. I looted and grenade hack and dlashbang hack from that grenadier I mentioned earlier. I disassembled them and learned the recipe for flashbang hacks. But heavens forbid I learn the regular manhack recipe

Kara Lyman, computer-hacker and parkour expert, has survived 47 days. During the first weeks, she was on the run, continually moving from one isolated building outside of a town to the next one, making her way north in an effort to avoid the hoards and find other refugees. On day 15, she hacked a computer terminal in a laboratory and downloaded a satellite overview of the region. This data revealed a small island in the middle of a large river-delta to the north-east, accessible by two bridges and housing only some swampland and a two-story motel. Home.

Despite the two bridges, reaching the island proved challenging. Between her and the river was a dense patch of forested land, stretching as far north and south as she could see. With no easy means of chopping down enough trees, Kara turned to a less conventional option. She parked her car by the forest’s edge and made the three-day trek back into the town she’d originally fled. Once there, she located the tank she’d seen during her initial escape, used a jerrycan of diesel to get it running again, and drove it back to the problematic forest. Then she kept driving straight through it.

By the time the tank came out on the other side, it was shredded. Large chunks were missing and damaged, but she had successfully made a navigable path. Kara drove to the motel, unpacked, and immediately began fortifying it. There were several advanced solar-powered cars parked on the bridges and roads nearby, and she brought them back to be used for parts.

All of this, however, is insignificant in comparison to the strides she’s taken towards preserving the technology and knowledge of the Pre-Cataclysmic world. When she’s not charging into a hailstorm of bullets in her power-armor (fueled by her extensive CBM reserves), she’s dancing around crowds of undead in her reinforced and plutonium-powered RM13 combat armor and tearing them apart with her hand-forged zweilander. Her arsenal includes plasma rifles, fusion-guns, laser rifles, and a laser-pistol.

Her travels have also brought her across some curious artifacts of unknown origin. The first makes her markedly stronger, and she can discern no adverse effects caused by it. The second causes a tremor in the earth around her, capable of tearing apart reinforced steel walls and fragmenting vehicles (she discovered this the hard way). It causes her a significant amount of pain, however, and does no physical harm to beings around her. The third and final one, perhaps the most useful, briefly compels any creature near her to ally themselves with her and fight on her behalf. The effect is temporary, and she’s beginning to discover it is causing her prolonged mental distress and hallucinations, but it has saved her life now on two occasions. Surely it’s worth the consequences.

…Day 95. Died from trying to lug an oven. Full stamina, no pain, no damage, breathing stopped. An ignoble end to a glorious spring. I completely forgot that that was a thing. I mean, who kills themselves pulling on an oven? I can move an oven, and I don’t even lift! Apparently, I died of drug overdose, but the hardest drugs I ever did were codeine and tramadol. In separate single doses. Gonna reroll a lab start, I think. At least if I die, it’ll be more reasonable. RIP Shinobu Asahara.

Rolled up a volunteer catgirl mutant, christened Yoshiko Katsuhara. Ears, tail, parkour expert, stylish, NV, robust genetics. These in exchange for addictive personality, fast metabolism, sleepy, heavy sleeper, insomniac, lightweight, trigger happy, and truth teller. Base stats in all but intelligence, which is 12. Skill of 5 in computers, 4 in cooking, 3 in tailoring, and 2 in electronics. Spawned in the warehouse three levels down and was able to win over the starting NPC. Found a mining helmet, a sewing kit, and scissors. Crafted myself a makeshift crowbar and some improvised lockpicks and raided the crates. Found an Internal Climate Control CBM and installed it successfully! Also found a screwdriver set and a flask of mutagen! Nice start so far. Crossing my fingers.

Found another warehouse on the same level. This time, there was a Sonic Resonator CBM. Installed it immediately and it worked! Now I just need power storage and generation CBMs. Unfortunately, the same warehouse had a half dozen manhacks flying around from a mysteriously dead zombie scientist. I made it out alive, but at the cost of leaving my erstwhile companion behind. She’s now quite deceased. Hopefully I’ll be able to avenge her death.

Found the CBM chamber! In spite of much pain, my computer skill prevailed. All the power generation CBMs I could ever ask for, plus Internal Storage, Integrated Toolset, and Mini-Flamethrower. No Power Storage CBMs, though! Still, hopefully I’ll be able to install them once the pain dies down.

Was getting too hungry, and too thirsty. Decided to trek upstairs after getting carved up by another manhack. The evil suckers always seem to go for the legs. Died to a dissector that I was in too much pain to spot one level below ground.
