also i just found i think 7 mini nukes, the zimbie scientists and soldier had fun with the 4 dissectors in the room, theres 132 tainted meat, half of which are rotten
Just get as far, FAR away from the lab bunker door if you’re gonna mininuke it. The very corner of the side rooms should just barely suffice, but you’ll still need to let the resulting radioactive cloud dissipate.
Hmm. The L39B is a machine pistol, which is better for “oh shit” moments than a standard pistol, but will annoy you in the long run if you picked Trigger Happy. Beyond that, compare damage, dispersion, and recoil.
hrm the machine pistol has better accuracy… if a lower dispersion is that, but it has 2 less damage also lower recoil and longer reload time… tough choices
Car construction has begun. Thankfully the light tank is the closest vehicle on the soon to be ex-base, as those tank treads are freaking heavy. I can’t construct on that area since it’s a bit too close to a zombie crowded area, so I’m carting off stuff at night and piecing them together during the day.
For most part, I think the tank will provide all the parts I need for the front section of my car and all that will be left is to finish that and drive my way to the cargo carrier truck wreck, then if needed go to one of the military barricades and get heavy duty frames and composite armor.
dang this lab is huge, 5 levels deep and i havent explored the top 2 or 3 floors yet and im already pretty much over burdened
apparently you can reinforce the First Aid book using tailoring
Make it a godly first aid book used to bash Hulks to death in one hit.
Hmm, light tank is more or less 3/4 intact, so I can probably have enough parts I need to make the car section of my Sluggernaut, named since I probably won’t get a ton of speed out of it.
Not sure what I’ll do with its main gun. In general I don’t use guns on cars for most part.
In any case, I should have enough security cameras to set up, but not enough floodlights. Taking the tracks off will probably take the most time, but after that it would be easier to cart away the frames and the platings.
You now have your escape tool, it seems. X3

when you said this i was more like not “eeeeh not gonna happen”
now…
now i think it will be the only way i can escape
Car segment done. It moved somewhat faster than expected since I added in the engines and whatnot first and drove the skeletal frame with weak wheels near to where the light tank is. Removed all the parts in one night and added it to the Sluggernaught in another night and a half.
11 tank treads, I think. 55 is the top safe speed. Aside from the front, the mid section where the solar panels will lie is also done. All that’s left is to collect more carriers from cars in places I know, and then strip one military truck to make the cargo section. Should take not a lot of time since I can just drive there.
It is done. Roughly two weeks worth driving around locations that had the car parts I wanted and welding them into the vehicle I’m making.
Behold… the Sluggernaut! Not really impressive, more or less, and it’s somewhat easy enough to do since this is pretty much the basic car design I usually go with, with some modifications - such as using military composite rams instead of rollers and using tank treads instead of armored wheels.
Day 8.
Since last posting, I’ve looted the closer office tower (loads of PDA/cell phones/paper and some non-perishables). Discovered a schoolbus south of it but there’s a skeleton nearby.
Shuffled the crafting pile closer to the console in NE corner of shelter.
During the day, dug out a fire pit in the clearing south of the shelter and stashed all the food and tools around it. My alter ego seems to suck at tailoring not unlike myself. My greatest achievement so far was making a long patchwork scarf. The main problem was the lack of rags… until I remembered I can cut up sheets (from the windows I’d boarded) into rags.
Killed a bloated Z and a dog which was annoying me by lounging around the shelter. My way of fighting is: throw rocks, club with aluminium bat if it gets to melee range. Throwing 5, dodge 2, melee 2.
A carry weight of 41 kg really hurts, I have designated a spot in the road bend roughly halfway between town and shelter as my stash.
I wish I had a shopping cart or a wheelbarrow. No groceries in sight, even though I’ve managed to reach a second fast food which is closer to the town than the outlying part I’d looted.

Some offices have chairs that are technically vehicle - light frame, seat, casters. That works for a draggable 100 storage, but you can also take the seat off and add better storage (trunk or floor trunk being the easiest).
You can also make something to drag just by cutting parts off of a car until only a single trunk space is left - no wheels, so it make noise, but better than nothing and requires only a hacksaw.
Also, grocery stores aren’t the only places with shopping carts. I’ve found them in pharmacies, home improvement megastores, hardware stores, and … uh, I think a couple of other ones, but I can’t remember any more right now.
The road towards the ice lab is filled with spawned hordes. It’s odd though, the Sluggernaut’s curtains are closed and everything is seen through floodlights and cameras, yet corrosive zombies seem to be aiming for me nonetheless.
Adding a welding rig to the vehicle is so far quite handy, as I can do repairs after a long session of ramming zombies on the road. Has the car’s ability to destroy items been removed? I ran over a corpse several times under the tank treads and nothing seems to be destroyed? Which is somewhat annoying since I use that method to dispose of unwanted trash.
I’m so bloody tempted to move all my stuff into this MBT and make it solar-powered, now that I got it fixed up. Replaced the busted treads with armored wheels and the max safe speed went from 38 MPH to fucking 150+ at least, and even stripping 4 of 5 engines I got 101 MPH.
