What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

what are those?[/quote]

Those gloriously annoying replicating shrooms.

We are the Mycus. Join us.

chances are… yes…

12506 existing mosnters

i think its actually blobs usually found in labs…

i turned on the debug mode and teleported around
i noticed that a it listed on load() and heals, the majority on the list were blobs and small blobs

Ah right, they’re just as capable of swamping the map, so it was a 50/50 shot. :V

im gonna roll a new start, wish debug had a way of exterminating specific monsters rather than all of them, dont want to play in an empty lab, wont be fun

Ah, sorry.

Tempted to suggest the medieval peasant start. o3o

i might try that, where does it stick you? and i wonder, is there any way to remove the illiterate trait without cheating?

In the forest, and sadly no. You can mitigate it if you’ve recruited an NPC though, they can read for you.

I’ve put a lot of work into my regional school base, putting together a proper organization scheme and setting up everything I needed. Now I figured it’s time for a little tour!

First off, the workshop and kitchen, fused here into one image. I’ve got a minifridge and water purifier set up in the kitchen, and I’m still figuring out how I want to set up my actual electric kitchen unit.
I’ve also got a floodlight setup in each. For my workshop I just finished setting up an anvil and crucible, and I’m about to start building myself a makeshift glaive to replace my steel spear and a machete to replace my trusty fire axe, as well as a proper butcher’s knife. My power armor suit stands there, waiting for when I need to take the fight to the zombies and liberate another few city blocks.

Out behind the kitchen there’s the school courtyard, which I have converted to a farm. I raided a home improvement store and got tons of seeds, so it should be a very busy summer for me! I’m temporarily using lockers to block any LOS, but eventually I’ll put up a proper wall.

And finally, across the hall I’ve taken over one of the bathrooms to use as my bedroom, with a constructed bed full of blankets and pillows and a dresser full of fresh socks and underwear.

I’ve got a solar powered car out back filling batteries that I’ve scavenged, and I had the happy discovery that the robot street sweepers have two swappable storage batteries each, so I shouldn’t have too much trouble keeping things in rotation.

Overall, I’m on day 72 after the Cataclysm and I’ve carved out a little piece of hell for myself. I’m going to have to start thinking of long term goals, or I might wrap this character up once I’ve pulled in and processed the first harvest. I know I at least want to find the book that will teach me to make an awl pike, but beyond that I don’t know. My goal has been longterm survival in a world of 91 day seasons, and I think I’ve accomplished the infrastructure for that handily.

Organized? Yessssssssssss.

Organization as far as I’m concerned is just another word for “is everything you might need in the radius that the crafting menu checks.”

Yes, clutter is fine so long as it’s accessible. I prefer piling different categories of goodies on different tables, close but not adjacent, for easier sorting.

managed to get into an armory… unfortunately no guns

For me, I like to organize items and make categories and subcategories for them. Nothing too elaborate, just enough to make sense for me and at the same time be close by enough for easy crafting - no need to lug items around.

Part of it is due to my preference of setting up a non-moving base. I kind of want to make the place look appealing in the sense that there’s no piles of unorganized items lying around. If I want guns, and a specific category of guns like a rifle, I’ll just head to the rifle rack and grab one there.

Ouch. ;w;

You have no ammo and you must shoot.

I have no bandits and I must loot. ;A;

Agreed. I also find myself resistant to the idea of piling my life into a giant mobile fortress. I like subdividing things so that I can more easily keep track of how much of any given thing I have.

With that in mind, I should probably separate my guns, ammo, and melee weapons into separate lockers.

For most part, I generally separate guns by skill type. Handgun skill guns go to the handguns locker… though I feel something is inherently wrong with the universe due to the rivtech short shotgun being placed in the handgun locker due to it using handgun skills despite the shotgun in the name.

Ammo’s a little more loose in organization. Most gun ammo in one rack, then shotgun shells in another. Exotic ammo types like hydrogen and fusion packs go in their own rack… though I suppose I can combine launcher ammo there as well.

that was amusing to see

Tracked down an NPC apparently wounded by a zombie by following the blood trail of the survivor at night. Was fun. All the work done to track the survivor down makes his freshly butchered meat more delicious.
