I finally had my little motorcycle outfitted with the advanced electric car parts, zipping along at ~too fast, at then I met a household shrub (not the nice kind of forest shrub), and lost a tire. Took about two hours of wandering in the dark, BUT I FOUND SOME MOTHERFUCKIN REPLACEMENT TIRES. Still no jack, but whatevs.
I hate that when you run away from the horde and don’t realize your 50 storage bag got wrecked along the way, taking half of your items with it. So goddamn annoying trying to find them.
Night raid, take two. Different section of town. Among the places I went, hit up three different pawn shops and a mansion pretty much close to the edge of the town where for all intents and purposes it’s already part of the town itself.
Found a zweihander, estoc, two broadswords, three katanas, and one nodachi. All of them sharp and usable. And, a bookstore raid from the first raid already have me the book of the five rings.
Also found a fire lance in the mansion. I must say, it’s my first time trying a weapon with a reach attack, and I’m enjoying it quite a bit, especially the bit where I killed a corrosive zombie hiding under the mansion’s pool water.
I recall I found a book on chinese weapons as well, so I’ll look into making ammo for the fire lance.
Is that lance arcana mod? It sounds scary and/or not so real.
i take it the only way ill get a crowbar or even a makeshift one is to get out of the lab isnt it… sooo many crates i wanna open and smashing wont help
Even with just 3.5x spawn, it feels as if the zombie population in towns is a whole lot denser. Maybe it’s just bad luck or I’m being rusty, though. Trying to move deeper into town seems a bit trickier now as nearly all streets and buildings are blocked off by groups of zombies.
Also, managed to fight off enough survivor zeds to set up most of the light armor setup I usually go with, and it seems that it’s really quite light now in terms of defense. Especially the torso, since all I’m wearing is a thermal electric outfit (no UPS yet), survivor trench coat, and harness. It’s still pretty vulnerable to predator impalement and infected wounds. And corrosive zombies are doing damage to me - not a lot but it accumulates.
Not that I’m complaining. I recall my light armor was nearly enough to keep me protected several months ago, so I have to be a lot more tactical in close range combat.
The power of rock and/or metal. As I’ve said before, it is the first and foremost of survival tools. All glorious Cataclysm necessities spring from it. o3o
‘Scheisse’ is what I said after I made the trek down to the cabin with the wood stove (avoiding moose) only to discover that:
wood stove cannot be dismantled
I forgot to pick a can from my pile of stuff and I overlooked pots in the houses I looted (I’m sure there was at least one, but I prioritized perishables)
Not much happened because I had to sleep (on a pile of leftover clothing and next to nails and 2x4s which will someday be a makeshift bed). Anyway I’ve made a keffiyeh and boarded up a window in the shelter-cum-base (the cabin is too far away from anything and the farm is even further away).
Day 3. Oh, and I edited my alter ego to the proper sex (and found a nylon bra on a Z I killed)
