What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

well i found a teleporter, used it to get behind one of the doors, only to find myself surrounded by 6 soldier zombies

also found a single stick of dynamite, not sure whether i should save it for the exit

Twenty-three days in, and I still haven’t found any gas masks/PBA masks/filter masks. Although, I still haven’t caught a cold or flu yet.

Well, I found an atomic mini-tank, and the only damage of consequence was the treads all being out. Wow, nifty.

However, as I merrily looted the crap out of it (3 storage batteries, main cannon, ammo, .50 cal ammo, lots of military composite…), I was oh-so-happy to get all 4 minireactors… until I found that 3 of them still have 1 plutonium cell in them. I installed the empty one, and life is good, but I can’t seem to do anything with the other 3.

I can’t install them, unload them, activate them, disassemble them, craft with them (stabilized portal), ANYTHING. It’s been at least a week now, no change.

Anyone know what to do about that?
That sounds like a derptastic interaction between not being able to unload partially-depleted plutonium and not being able to install filled fuel tanks. >.<
I’ll see your derptastic interaction and raise you one derpalicious exploit!

I got to thinking about containers… so I made a Power Storage CBM with no plutonium around except what was in the minireactor. BAM, problem solved!

Oh that is fucking brilliant.

looting a science lab, only scraping the first underground floor b/c it’s an ice lab

open a door, not expecting any major trouble

suprise zombie hulk

get slammed backwards onto the floor

start running, head for the next set of doors

can’t outrun the hulk

to my benefit he actually slams me through the doorway, now in one of those prisoner containment rooms with the zombie brute in the center

immediately close both doors

over 150 pain, can barely walk

hulk smashes through the wall, I can’t see him and vice versa

making my way to another hallway

getting curious, turn on debug mode to see what happened

turns out there was a shoggoth in the containment cell right next to me

turns out the hulk decided to smash through the glass and fight him

shoggoth kills the hulk and eats its corpse

the hulk is gone but now there’s a shoggoth on the loose

Goo pits still work on shoggoths? Gookake that shoggoth if it’s still possible.

Tekeli-li. ;w;

My long save (admittedly blown up by skills->stats) is in late game and I have dedicated myself to training a band of hardened NPC survivors. Thanks to the Experimental, I can kit them out with Survivor gear and decent weapons. Alas, the NPCs don’t get skills->stats, and there’s not much that a survivor with 20+ stats and over 9000 power (with all the other CBMs that implies) can’t do alone, but it’s nice to collect a gang and get them to spin cotton.

Yeah, They still do…

Night raid, take two. Different section of town. Among the places I went, hit up three different pawn shops and a mansion pretty much close to the edge of the town where for all intents and purposes it’s already part of the town itself.

Found a zweihander, estoc, two broadswords, three katanas, and one nodachi. All of them sharp and usable. And, a bookstore raid from the first raid already have me the book of the five rings.

Also found a fire lance in the mansion. I must say, it’s my first time trying a weapon with a reach attack, and I’m enjoying it quite a bit, especially the bit where I killed a corrosive zombie hiding under the mansion’s pool water.

I recall I found a book on chinese weapons as well, so I’ll look into making ammo for the fire lance.

Nice! But now you have to ask yourself an important question: landsknecht or samurai?

i just encountered a power armored zombie, how dangerous are they?

Why not both? o3o

Damn tough, far as I know. Not sure what actual threat they posed beyond being a stone wall.

Not as strong as a hulk or a brute. No smash attack. Hell, in general their attacks won’t do much damage, if any.

On the other hand, they’re quite tough. You’ll barely damage them if you’re unarmed or using a weak melee weapon, or don’t do damage at all. They’re kind of like the armored enemies like tank drones and shoggoths; several types of bullets would just bounce off them.

You need a really powerful gun, or a powerful melee weapon to take them down. Not a threat one on one, for most part.

Because cata doesn’t support dual-wielding.

To be honest, I don’t support dual-wielding, either.

These power armored zombies sound like fine sparring partners…

Better idea would be to just take ALL THE WEAPONS and switch to whichever one fits your mood at the moment. o3o

That just means asking the question over and over!

The answer is yes. o3o

I got a better (bad) idea. We take this game and its weapons, and combine it with Katamari Damacy. Rolling a ball of sharp pointy objects to skewer and slice all in its path!

And why stop there? Roll up them zeds as well!

Or get some chain and make a multi-national swordchuck.
