What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Do you have bionik energy and did you turn the pa on?

So, what zany new things have been added recently? Got drawn in to dwarvy things for a while.

As I’m sure I’ll be once .40.25 is out.

Let’s see, big old Arcana mod update, added ability to repair bows/slings/etc without a gunsmithing kit, artifact properties can now be cited in JSON files, eternal season option, skill speed scaling, some new houses/parks…

Is the pneumatic assault rifle still OP?

Far as I know, maybe. Repeating crossbow is also delicious. PAR might be complicated by the fact that it still counts as a gun. So on the one hand, it doesn’t benefit from now being able to repair by soldering/sewing/etc, but it can be accurized and the crossbows can’t. :V

You know what else can be accurized?

.50 BMG rifle.

It ends up with 30 dispersion including normal .50 ammo.

If only I had good rifle skill this thing would be disgustingly effective.

PAR was a horde killer back when I last used it. Can’t remember if it had recoil or not, but using metal ball bearings it damn killed hundreds of zombies in one day.

I’ve yet to try that thing. ;w;

Brace yourselves… Winter is coming.

Break into a couple Military Bunkers until you find a Barrett M107A1. Accurized and ace customized with all the fixings, skills and a stat line to match. I used to hunt Hulks, Hordes, Tank Drones, and just about everything else with the boatloads of ammo you can find in most any military wreck.

It begiiiins.

The PAR is pretty useless against shoggoths and tank bots. All the bullets bounce off em. It can take on nearly all the zombies; a single burst enough to kill multiple types of zombies in one go, or kill a hulk in one burst. Pretty sure it also trained the rifles skill and it leveled up at a fast rate. Ammo is super easy to craft since all you need is scrap metal.

Ah, nice. Still, I’ve been sticking with the humble crossbow lately.

WHAT’S THAT YOU SAY

At l;east now reinforcing of regular items is no longer borked. =w=

Looked at git and I’m still confused. What tool can we use instead of gunsmithing kits?

…hint, checking what material the item’s made of. Repair kits (or resinous cord) for wood/bone/etc, sewing for cloth/leather, soldering for metal/plastic.

I’m gonna try using a sling. Dunno why, but I suppose I wanna kill hordes with a humble sling.

Yessss, do a David impression. Should be a bit harder hitting than the slingshot now.

Just woke up on day 7 after hunkering down at a hospital for the night. NPC and I are on a little quest to get back some supplies I had to abandon due to … surrounding circumstances. Supplies in question are about a week’s worth of food and two week’s worth of drinks. Gonna see what sort of trouble I can get the both of us into.

EDIT: For only having four buildings, this town really does have a disproportionate amount of zeds. Time to recalculate.

Since I can’t draw for shit, I’ll describe my last survivor in here before he was so rudely killed by a shocker zombie during a coke fueled looting.

First of all he had a bow, he wasn’t good at it, but I like having a bow to just plink at rodents and hopefully train him up to be some sort of Hawkeye-esque sniper machine (sadly that never happened).

From a lifetime supply of boots I had enough leather to make a full leather armour set, sure it encumbered me by 1, but it’s amazing to see how little damage you get thanks to some protection…
Next to that he had two sheaths and two holsters. Both holsters carry shotgun revolvers for whenever shit gets real, at the time of his demise they were empty after I had to empty them into two brutes prior, but they sure packed a hell of a wallop when you need that extra killing power.
The two sheaths on the other hand carried combat knives, for the very simple reason that one knife is never enough and even at high levels I’m always wary for getting one knife stuck in a zommie, so there’s the backup knife to make sure i’ll never have to use my fists.

For the biggest part I was hardly ever encumbered more than 2, even then thanks to messenger bags, holsters, and sheaths I kept volume low with an emergency duffel bag in a shopping cart of justice for when I truly need to haul some shit long distances.

Also found cocaine early on, and despite him having addictive personality I never had any bad effects from like 3 days of using at least 2 bumps per day, so that was nice, and Coke sure helps a lot when you’re in danger of getting swamped and just need to GTFO to the nearest safe zone.

Sadly, even cocaine wasn’t enough when a shocker brute and an ordinary brute decided to double team me and smack me through a couple of walls. I managed to off them with my revolvers, and clear a path to run away, but before I could get to safety a shocker electrocuted me and absolutely ruined my speed as a result, so they caught up to me and made brain stew out of one of my most awesome and badass survivors.
