I tried making a world in the 3750 experimental with mundane, classic-only zombies, but enabled both the fast Zombies mod and the Tough Zombies mod.
Used the Last Firefighter Scenario.
Immediately after the world loads, I am greeted by the sight of about twenty to fifty zeds bashing down the walls of the fire station. Apparently the static NPC chose to take a potshot at a Z-9.
I tried to run.
They were faster.

I just installed a .50 BMG sniper turret on my tank. I have 270 rounds of ammo for it. It has a manual aiming range of over 140 units. This is a good day.

Slowly clearing out the slime pits. Getting a rhythm going. Let a group advance, hack away at them as they come, fall back if I’m at risk of getting surrounded. Short term priority, big blobs. Only things that can reliably hit hard enough through my plate armor to do any noticeable damage. Long term priority, small blobs. Kill the end-product of blob splitting before they regroup, regrow, reproduce.

Apparently, the special sewer group spawns when you first GET to a refugee center, not when you get the quest to find them… I found this out by getting to a refugee center and having the game promptly crash. EVERY TIME.

Checking the debug log, it would appear that there is no place to spawn said special group (within some radius, I assume). Bummer.

That said, I know I’ve found more than one refugee center in the same game before, and you can get all the same quests again, so if I search until I find another refugee center, will that one check a different area for valid places? Hate to put in the time and effort to be crash-blocked again.

Additional suggesstion which massively rips off Parasyte.

Use Blobs to fuse them with your body and gain alien biological weaponry as part of your body.
