What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Alright, got myself Arcana 6 finally. I can drink this offering chalice and rebuild it for… blood essence, apparently. A little torso pain/damage, but seems worth. Not really crafting anything 'cause I don’t know what to craft, but here goes. So far pretty unintuitive…

edit: Leveling to 10 soon.

Sorry that the is a tad illogical at times, yeah.

Summoning is of course the serious high-level stuff, at present. ^^"

I wanted to disassemble some essence for dull essence to power the incorruptible sword I found, but it requires some sort of hammer. Where do I get that?

The hammer can be found and should be one of the lowest-level recipes in The Cleansing Flame book. o.o

…Man, your mod has so many books. I’ve scavenged every mansion, library, cave etc. and only now obtained an entry-level book to get me to 10. I really like the features of the mod, but damn… it’s really hard to find some of this stuff!

In terms of actual scavenged stuff, I have
History of Alchemy
Oaths to the Chalice
Sanguine Codex
To Master the Unknown

as well as
offering chalice
silver athame
revenant crown
incorruptible sword
65 essence

Where do I go next?

Ah, nice. The only remaining books are Apprentice’s Notes (entry-level, no recipes) and The Cleansing Flame (mid-level, assorted dull essence using recipes).

If you see a “curious structure” on the map, that’s one good choice to raid. Currently the only mapgen added to the mod.

Thanks, I’ll go scout out some area and see if I can’t find one.

Just have Fun when you get to the bottom of it. Any suggestions to make it more interesting would be nice as well. <3

Wow, I found one fast!

It was nice. The aesthetic is just about perfect, and the pillar section felt claustrophobic enough (assuming there’s only one layout). I have a decently OP character so the nether monsters weren’t that bad, but they seemed appropriate for the loot. I think it could do with some more enemies, maybe zombie hollows in a few rooms, necromancers, etc. just to bolster the combat, otherwise you can avoid a fight and still get loot/books. Besides that it was cool.

One suggestion to the mod as a whole would be an easier source of gold. I’ve looted 2 banks without finding a single bar and some stuff requires it (although I have a little from disassembling the occasional fancy watch).

What does a powered incorruptible sword have above an unpowered one, besides being glowing?

I was thinking the upper level at least could use some population, and undead might be ideal for there. Hopefully the boss at the end was neither too wimpy nor too OP?

Might ponder a good place for gold to spawn. If I implement dragon lairs as another boss locale maybe…

And let’s see…mainly the same flame effects as most fire weapons, though it might need some other advantage to make it worth using. Unsure what.

Maybe making it VORPAL and adding another technique? There are a few ways to increase style/output without directly increasing damage or making it faster. Adding the ability to light objects on fire? Dunno.

Oo, dragons. That would be a pretty insane boss, maybe if it were made netherworldly to match with Cata’s theme (less traditional ideas of dragons, more unorthodox/old fashioned).

Hmm, vorpal might be interesting. I was thinking a small damage buff, or…hmm.

And could go with standard dragons, anomalous dragons, or…dracolich? X3

I’m currently working on a sort of “underground ruin” area at present, that might have a few random FF references.

Well i think i have a new “worse start possible”… the odd on spawning next to a outpost when there like… countless other forest tiles it could of picked…

I’ve had numerous lab starts like that - recently, it was changed so that if you spawn in a lab room with a turret, the turret is removed, so YAY, no more of that. But yeah, those are silly.

Another insta-dead start is using the burning building start on a “big-box” style building, like the furniture store. I’ve literally had the building come down on me before I did ANYTHING.

I would be more amused if i was playing legit…

(currently messing around with a lua mod trying to improve it…)

Half temped to black list grenadier zombies… they fuck up loot making the outposts not worth visiting anymore.

Oh wow. I have encountered repeated bad spawns in a previously-used world, yeah.

Now, I should look into playtesting a thing I’m working on…

Are they supposed to explode on death? They don’t seem to for me but maybe that’s because they already used their explosives on the local turrets before being resurrected over and over again?

I certainly got plenty of loot from the local outpost. I just wish I had a hauling frame for the power armour. Presumably you still can’t wear clothes over it?

Form what i seen they meant to use some of there remaining grenades when they die, mainly to screw over melee and to destroy the corpse…

the corpse is always undamaged even with the c4+grenade+tear gas exploding on top of it…

Once I remember my evac shelter spawned in the middle of a massive body of water.
Nearly drowned trying to get to shore

Testing Vehicular Carnage Potential: EPIC.
Love your vehicle additions, Blaze! Nothing like making a nice hip flask of coffee while your trusty deathmobile slaughters a zillion pathetic mewling zeds and sends them to Hel while I sip java and read about launchers.
