If i know i’m doomed, and i dont feel like playing that worldd anymoore, i’ll spawn a mininuke, and set it for 1 turn.
Sometimes, it’s fun to just spawn a tankbot main gun, and go around blowing EVERYTHING up.

My character spawned at a crash site (I was using the Helicopter Crash scenario), and in the wreckage I found a few items of questionable practicality (which I took anyway because I hoard like a motherf*cker in this game) and two M72 LAWs (Light Anti-Tank Weapon, because I am a military history nerd and I will cockslap you all with my knowledge). Carried those with me, ran into a horde of 50+ zombies (I like to use the slow zombies and mundane zombies mods so that it’s a little more “realistic”) and out ran them to a Humvee. I’d tried to evade them in town by ducking into a gun store, but the doors were locked, as were the doors to the gun store literally right next door to it. (I can only assume that they enjoyed some stiff competition before the Cataclysm) Then it dawned on me. I was a quarter mile out of town at this point, so I stopped the vehicle, climbed out, and walked back into town.
Blew a hole in the front door of each gun store like they were tasty death pinatas and I wanted the candy inside. :I
My motorcycle disappeared entirely. I have no idea where it went whatsoever. Which is a damn shame, it had a spare jack, two full steel jerrycans of gas, and most of my cold-weather gear (plus a C4 block and LAW).
In unrelated news, the Tomahawk Mk. II is now being constructed out of atomic mini-tank parts. This is guaranteed to not go wrong at all. If I can manage to get a vortex generator installed on it, it’ll be fantastic…
So exactly how can one check the drop rate of an item? The way I’ve managed to not find any portal generators even as the months in-game drag on is making me paranoid that they don’t drop or something.
I found Meatopia a few squares south of my starting position. (LMOE Winter start near an anthill to the north, so I already had a charcoal kiln and smoker set up on Spring day 1.) ~350 meat stockpiled by middle of Spring.
Well. I tried the bottom of a mine start for the first time. I ignored the petrified eye I spawned near, recruited the starter NPC…then promptly facepalmed because allied NPCs STILL can’t follow me up stairs.
For fuck’s sake, I thought they added that feature ages ago.
Anyway, I was expecting an arduous slog up the 7 levels of mine I had to get through to reach the surface. In reality, I just noped right past the couple dark wyrms encountered along the way, tanked my way past the 2 gas vents encountered, and made it out easily.
But hey, free gas mask, mining helmet, and jackhammer.

That not Meatopia (anthill already coves that), it’s FATopia. THAT is what’s hard to get that swamps provide.
Seriously, lard FTW (used to make pemmican). Also, tallow for candles, IIRC, and lard or tallow for all kinds of useful things (only some of which can have tainted tallow substituted).

Um, I had an NPC following me up and down stairs in the experimental build I downloaded last week…? Haven’t had any problems with it, myself.
Now, it’s not in STABLE yet, for sure.
I was using one of the recent experimental builds though. ;A;
Maybe you need to have the z-level worldgen setting on?
dont forget if you get a survivor stove you can get cooking oil with lard and fill it up with minimal effort
Trying to scrounge up some ammunition for my rifle (HK416A5, with underslung M203) or my sidearm (Beretta M9 with laser sight and extended magazine.)

Some scrap metal and a bit of mechanics skill and I think you can make a makeshift lockpick.
The other thing you could have easily done, is rammed the front with the vehicle and got inside. Being a humvee it would have survived fine too.
Not that your method wasn’t awesome, in the heroic movie sense.
I was evading a horde, so I didn’t have much time to craft.
^~^
Oh.
Oh, god.
You pull the rope…
The closed metal door hits the dog.
The dog dies!
The barn doors closed!
From the west you hear clang!
Currently Building a Boat for traveling and looting (maybe a bit of explore’n), I’ll post pictures here and Vehicle Show and Tell when I’m done.
They shall call you Hercules the Boat-Builder!
You know that part where you’ve played long enough that you have a survivor suit and a deathmobile that could fight godzilla and everything is seeming a little passe? Man that is a great time to go into the file and manually turn on hordes. So much carnage.
3x turbolaser turrets from the vehicle pack are a mass corpse-eraser.
If anything it’s a great excuse to run through all those guns you’ve been hording. The FTK-93 makes a glorious night light.
I’m playing helicopter crash as military recruit, trying to heal damaged arms.
P.S:combat knife is really powerful, killed hostile NPC without any damage simply by being skilled enough.
I just realized the image of my black clad bionic commando must be ruined by the 1800+ charges of inhaler kept on their person…
got mission to analyse zombie blood in centrifuge
hospital filled with huge boomers and corosive zombies
zombies wrecked some walls allready
tried to find centrifuge in quick sweeps because corosive zombies do not take much damage from 9mm and i wasted all my beanbags on fish(in sewers) and mosquito(swamp near hospital)

centrifuge and console intact mr. stem cell destroyed
downloaded info on pendrive and now i am walking in subway again
