Couldn’t you just moved the character (The Character Itself, Not The World) you were using before to the newest experimental?
Tried it. Same problem. Places like the refugee center and necropolis crashes the game.
On the other hand, I can at least make the new character the same as the old character. Debug the same gear he had on, for most part. I want to do it since I do have an ongoing storyline on my head for that character.
Had to wipe my lab escapee save for similar reasons: old character templates and saves meant the newest experimental just blew up on execution.
That’s okay though. I got another lab guy going now! And he’s contending with far fewer turrets so far, which is lovely. Still seem to be in an ice lab though. Food preservation isn’t an issue at least, I’ve got a stairwell down and up each so I can store goodies on a colder level if need be.
Double bonus! I don’t get all that error red text at the start of every game load going on about items and jsons misplaced. Woo!
Killed my first Shocker Brute on a new character today, butchered him and got a UPS CBM along with the usual Power Storage. This is the beginning of a wonderful apocalypse, I just know it.
Edit: I’ve got a Charger Rifle I picked up off a zombie soldier a while back gathering dust back at base. Once I find a way to charge myself I’ll have to test it out finally.
Ooh, neat. X3
EDIT: I found a working security van. Should I haul it over to my RV and convert the RV into an up-armored beast, or move my stuff to the RV?
Woot! The best possible thing that could possibly happen happened.(ok maybe an exaggeration, but this is just what I needed) Sick with the flu, starving, exhausted, a Moose attacked. FOOD! WONDERFUL FOOD! I WILL LIVE!
Well, I found a spider basement. My barbarian still has very little armor due to the summer heat, so I made a wooden shield. Doesn’t matter if the shield clashes with my backpack, if I have no other torso armor on and have enough melee skill to handle the penalty. Might want to bolster all my gear first.
Messing around on a test character, just found this on my first foray into the city (this is like 10 minutes after spawn).
Right to left: Wreckage (With some undamaged wide wheels and cargo spaces!), Road Roller (All roller drums undamaged), Fire Engine, Fire Truck (Destroyed), Humvee (Armored wheels destroyed sadly), Fire Engine, Ambulance, Main Battle Tank (also destroyed, which is a crying shame), and a Hatchback.
My current plan is to use that Fire Station as my base and salvage what I can from everything except the Humvee, which will probably be my main vehicle.
I don’t think I’ve seen so many useful vehicles in the same place before, all that’s missing is a RV/Luxury RV or maybe some electric cars/SUVs
EDIT: One tile south from there I also found a Mobile Gun System and a motorcycle, pretty crazy.
Looks like I’m gonna need to add a destroyed tile definition to heavy duty quarterpanels. :V
EDIT: Oh wait, no. Is just the vanilla MShock. Derp.
EDIT 2: Alright. I’m ready to krump some bloody spiders.
Screenshot:
Alright chums, let’s do this! LEEEEEROOOOOY JEEEENKIIIINS!
EDIT 3: And then literally the first attack I still get poisoned. All that effort. >.<
EDIT 4: Spiderfood, spiderfood, does whatever spiderfood does. Started anew as a churl. Damn good thing I chose to start at midnight this time, I spawned RIGHT next to a bandit camp!
I hope you marked it for future reference so you could nuclear them from orbit…
Hah. HAHAHAH. How is an illiterate peasant gonna hack a console to nuke them? ;____;
EDIT: An illiterate peasant IS, however, capable of sneaking into their camp in the dead of night and jacking a motorcycle right out from under their noses. One bandit is now roadkill, another…what, baker’s dozen to go?
EDIT 2: Churls also know how to use C4 acquired via dead bandit. 2 more down.
It’s a shame you didn’t record the ordeal, I wanted to see how fast you could’ve killed them all.
And If you were able to beat it under what it took for me…
I got…5 of them. I do wish I could record stuff, but…meh. Basically I snuck past the eastern gate guard, jacked a motorcycle and ran over the guy near the motor pool, who I assume is the mechanic. Then I grabbed some C4 I found on him, used it to blast the 2 guards at the south gate. Then grabbed the bike again to take care of the eastern gate’s guard. Then tried and failed to get the guard near the main building, so I ditched that bike and grabbed a second, using it run over the western gate’s guard before finally buggering off.
I can only assume that these bandits now think their camp is haunted. o3o
EDIT: Huge screenshot roughly summing up the shenanigans that ensued last night.
EDIT 2: Guess who’s baaaack?
And Not On An Indian Burial Ground…
[sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup][sup]Probably not but either way, They Need To Call The Ghostbusters…[/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup]

For added Fun, I subsequently snuck inside the main hall, jacked as much useful shit as I could, found a safe spot to light the camp on fire without the firelight blowing my cover, then loading all the loot onto one of the 2 remaining functional motorcycles.
Then I jacked THAT too.
EDIT: And then I had to fight off 2 wolves, 2 dogs, AND a moose all one after another. Instant karma I guess? Reach attacks save the day again.
“Till, bruised and bitten to the bone
And taught by pain and fear,
He learned to deal the far-off stone,
And poke the long, safe spear.”
So many manhacks everywhere in this lab escape I’m planning. At least I found a goo canister and that chemisty book, now I have something to put explosives in to blast the exit door when I find it.
Have I mentioned I fucking love spears now?
EDIT: Found a flintlock carbine in the mansion I’ve been raiding. Will have to see if I can get any ammo, or a better weapon option.
EDIT 2: Zombie in one of the mansion kitchens dropped an empty, 50-liter keg. Somebody partied haaaard.
EDIT 3: No library in this mansion, but a shitload of good books, mainly in pool-table rooms. Too bad Ragnar’s illiterate.
You could try to Simulate learning to read by reading Children’s Books until you’re satisfied with the amount of time spent of “Learning”, then debug the illiterate trait away Ragnar to read…
Which is the same thing I do for some of my illiterate characters as I sometimes “Roleplay” now and again when I get bored…
Security vans are EVERYWHERE on 3453… Not that I’m complaining. I think I’ve found over a dozen so far in a small city.
Maybe, though don’t forget that Ragnar is not just illiterate, but an illiterate, time-displaced peasant. There’s a reason the scenario description, profession description, and churl trait description are all written in rather archaic, surprisingly authentic-looking middle english. o3o
The fact I’ve yet to encounter any friendly NPCs to talk to only reinforces the roleplay factor. We’ll just, er…ignore his inexplicable affinity for motorcycles and C4. Though as the only driving he did with them as in a straight line, with any maneuvering done by quietly pushing it around, I’d say he simply figured out how to operate a strange, sorcerous battering ram. X3
