From 3391 to 3418. …unfortunately, no backup, so it’s a new game for me.
So far, at zero survival, I’m getting power storage mk 2 from NPC corpses. Odd.

That sounds like a problem. Will test 3404 -> 3419 to see if I can reproduce it.
Upgraded without problems. So sucks for you, and sorry to hear your game got wiped, but seems the other people are ‘safe’.
I don’t suppose there’s a way to transfer just the character into a new world? I recall someone posting about it before, but I can’t quite recall on how to do it.
I remember the same thing. But no idea how to do it.
I found it.
Yes, but it’s a little involved, and you can’t take anything but you and your inventory with you (so no deathmobiles, at least not with a rather significant amount of work on top of this).
Steps:
[ol][li]Move to the surface. You have no idea what the new world will have in your new location, and getting entombed in solid rock is a stupid way to die.[/li]
[li]Pick up everything you want to take with you.[/li]
[li]Save and quit.[/li]
[li]Open up your save folder and find the 5 or so files with names that start like this: “#QmVuamFtaW4gUmVwbG9nbGU”.[/li]
[li]Copy those files over into the same spots on the new world’s save folder.[/li]
[li]If you want to take any artifacts over you will need to copy over artifacts.gsav as well (note: this can and will rewrite previous artifacts in the world as well).[/li]
[li]Restart C:DDA and open up your save in the new world.[/li]
[li]Assuming everything went right, you should be done.[/li][/ol]
Of course if your goal is to just move from one version to the next you can just copy over the entire world folder instead of just the character (compress it first though, it reduces down to about 1/8th of it’s normal size).
Whew. Well, I can only take the items my character can carry, but I suppose that’s all right. I was in the middle of finding a new place to become a base, anyways.
On the old world, while the map is all screwed up, I was thankfully close to my base, so I can go there, wear several layers of backpacks and duffel bags, and carry out all the things I might want, including a cargo carrier and an extra light frame, plus a wheel.
Funnily enough, I spawned in the new world in the middle of a river. Managed to swim out before the torso damage killed the character.
On the new world with the current character I’m using who transferred there after the old world map broke, found an outpost, and a nearby ice lab would become my base so I can store perishable food.
There was a previous lab before that, where my character almost died. Big horde. Really big horde. Amazingly big horde. At first there were like only a hundred of them; on the old world I could handle that… then I saw a group of at least 10 hulks bearing down on me. Hydraulic muscles pairs very well together with muay thai, since that style gets a damage increase with strength.
Still, ten-plus hulks is ten-plus hulks, especially when stamina is drained. Got smashed a few times, thankfully through nothing. Eventually the hulks were gone, but there were a lot more.
After killing many more, I realized that this was gonna be futile for now. There were at least 200 more zombies around, so at that point I ran for it, pretty battered but alive.
Won’t be coming back there until I can find a way to vaporize all those untidy corpses. Of course, by then those zombies that didn’t explode with hydraulic muay thai is probably back on their feet, doubling the numbers I have to fight, but that’s something I’ll figure out in the future.

I recommend the fusion blaster rifle (the one you make from the CBM) and a good amount of bionic power. Doesn’t drain stamina, takes care of corpses.
Unfortunately, it also has a really bad habit of nuking the loot as well, so killing them once in one area, then coming back later and killing them again a screen over to save their loot actually isn’t a bad idea.
Personally, I carry a katana (for Niten ichyRyu), a fusion blaster rifle, and an A7 laser rifle - set to burst fire, kill things MUCH more quietly and without nuking the loot (or the shocker/SB/scientist/technician corpses), but it’s not area effect, and it takes a good bit more power, especially for hulks. Hulks generally die in 2 shots from the fusion blaster, sometimes 3 (and those 2-3 shots might well kill several others in the process), so 8-12 power, while it’s going to take at least 3 rounds of burst fire to kill it with the laser rifle, and that’s not going to have any other kills to go with it, so it’s much less efficient… but hey, quiet, and you get loot.
Chain lightning is also all kinds of delicious in situations like you describe, though it doesn’t deal with the corpses.
Also don’t forget that, at least when facing down fairly small groups, smashing the corpse seems to be a bit quicker than butchering. And for the corpses you want to butcher like scientist zombies, it doesn’t affect what results you get from butchering.
It does drain your stamina though.
I spawned just outside a school in the crashed helo scenario. A crawler attacked a moose, leading it closer to the school. It killed 22 zombie children before dying. They’re like 40d carp but bigger.

Stamina drain can be REALLY bad against a large horde.
Also, pulped corpses do eventually rot away, leaving nothing, so if you want ot butcher it, and you might not have time now, leave it to get back up.
Actually, necromancers can get pulped corpses back up for you, but that’s not generally a good thing, eh?
Now, I has an NPC recruited, and a tank. If I could just disarm her, as I dunno if she’ll use the main gun…
I was thinking more along the lines of exploding the corpses. Tested it out before with the new explosions and whatnot. Rockets might now kill the zombies still standing in the blast radius, but all corpses lying around are vaporized. Don’t really need the items, so no point in sorting through a horde that large.
Funnily, I tried killing an NPC with the recoilless rifle (dammit game, it’s a launcher, stop making me feel unwell in organizing it in my weapons launchers). Since NPCs got limbs, 800 damage from a direct hit doesn’t instantly kill them.
Use the main gun you bloody fool. Drop the crowbar and blast em! ;_;
But her mother gave her that crowbar… I think NPC’s primary weapons are like security blankets for them
And I’m giving her a main battle tank as a “happy end-of-the-world day” present.
If she doesn’t use the bloody main gun I’ll be giving that NPC the 120mm shells. :V

Maybe the game is subconciously telling you to stop being a dirty cheater.
Butbutbut delicious debug testing. ;A;
Been playing on a ‘newly’ created world for awhile (Two-Three Days) and managed to get a RV in Working Condition* which has been a big help for me to get to the Refugee Centre North-East on the map. On the way there there was a town with a Tank Drone Damn you Cliffard! Stationed at a Road Block… Needless to say, I noped the f*** out of there.
Surprisingly, due to me speeding away at breakneck speeds it didn’t fire despite having me Laser Targeted. SUCH LUCK!
and thanks to that, I didn’t get the camera a picture of me doing a 90 Degree Turn on the spot… Oh well, Enjoy the picture of me speeding away…
Good thing there isn’t any cops in the apocalypse who’s able to give me a ticket .-.
Which is about 98 mph if google is correct I remember correctly…
As Working Condition as it could be for the situation*
Dang, should’ve ran it over.
And let it have a higher chance of hitting me? I’m not taking a risk. Even IF the tank’s accuracy was as bad as X-COM Rookies, I still wouldn’t go for it unless the RV is either better armoured and/or I’m better equipped.
Besides, I’ve been getting lucky the past few in game days and I don’t want to ruin the luck streak by dying
EDIT: After going around the tank, was scavenging around and found a Gun Nut’s Basement,
And Lo And Behold, I found a M3 Recoilless Rifle, And RPG with ammunition to deal with the ‘little’ pest. Wish me luck…
[sup]Might Have To Savescum.[/sup]
EDIT #2: I killed it! I killed the lil’ bastard! Took only Two Tries
Really wasn’t that menacing when I had HEDP Swiss-Cheesing the bastard…
Edit #3:

Let’s just hope that’s the last of it…
[sup]It Better Be Because I Have Nothing Left… Well, Expect for Three Shots With My RPG-7…[/sup]
