I dare you to do a Zen run with a blindfold on. :V
They said guns don’t kill people they did.
Well, guns DO get people killed in Cata…almost.
Was suppoused to (F)ire my bullwhip, which by the way is the greatest weapon EVER made.
Alas, had just loaded a two barrel shotgun so instead of whip off went the shotgun.
Zed did go down, but the problem was everybody and their cousin heard the shot forcing me to flee the city.
You don’t get that far with 19 00’s versus town full of zeds.
I made that exact same mistake just yesterday, only instead of the shotgun, it was the fusion blaster, and it completely torched the cabin I had just stashed 300+ jerky and 50+ lard in… man, did I feel stupid.
Such impossible sleeping, very hnng.
At least you didn t set fire to it with a campingfiredrill like i… uh never ever did because that would just be stupid.
Incendiary fox fails again. o3o
Also, I should shorten up this RV, is too long.
EDIT: Lootmobile is almost complete. All I need is to face it with reinforced windshields instead of quarterpanels, plus slap some floor trunks and stow boards down. Then maybe start armoring it up…
True; I forgot about that. But then again, any chances US could review their ‘policy’ regarding the fire engines and adopt smaller ones at least partially?
Does the one in Cata have a ladder on it?
Could it be something smaller without a ladder but with a smaller water tank and water cannon (I think we have such cars where I live)?
All right, to hell with it, I’m done with rationalisations.
What kind of outpost? The one with bandits?
Bionic Moth run ended early when I got overwhelmed by enemies. Time to attempt another one (Now that I’ve taken a break from it and goofed off in Elite Dangerous anyways!).
I’m still pretty careless when it comes to combat, but I’ve got early game preparations figured out again at least! Make a couple of good melee weapons, one for stabbing, one for blunt force (Because I never know when I’ll meet a skeleton or someone who’s resistant to stabbing), make a bindle to carry stuff (As the early game involves melee combat, ranged penalties from encumbered hands aren’t a big deal), go downstairs, find loot, figure out what to do from there based on my surroundings.
Welcome to Arachnae’s Spider Emporium, for all your black widow needs!
Fucking spider basements. ;A;
EDIT: Found an intact solar SUV in a garage. 70% power even! This would be an awesome find if I wasn’t using the Lootmobile and thus only need a few more panels to slap on it.

Man, I LOVE spider basements - SO MUCH MEAT! And eggs to turn into powdered eggs, too.
And the occasional awesome drops, of course.
Only thing is I’m not QUITE at the point where I can effortlessly carve through them without taking a hit.
EDIT: Dropped a shitton of supplies so I could set aside my rucksack. That plus a pot helmet shall give me a better chance against them. o3o
Today I learned about blade traps.
And man were they AWESOME. Finishing off the stragglers was a cinch! Unfortunately, 50.00 spawns don’t let me smash/butcher before the corpses resuscitate.
MUST MAKE MOAR.
I really should play with trapping. :V
EDIT: Cleared out the spider basement, 2 electronic gun safes. Gotta make an electrohack…
EDIT 2: Well that is underwhelming. 2 USPs, some 9mm ammo, suppressors, and cash cards.
A little show and tell. Join me in my journey as I explore the mad reality of post-cataclysmic New England. Sundays at 8AM on Di… uhh, right.
Accidentally nudged a Hatchback at about 200km/h. [S]My car stopped (I stopped it) just about where the collision happened.[/S] The collision happened where the shredder detached. (= The white bracked to the right.) The Hatchback hit the side of the building to the northwest, shattering to pieces like a frag grenade. The only damage I sustained was the detached shredder, which detaches itself whenever it takes too much damage, after which it can be installed in 100% condition. Could’ve been much worse.
Now, in this image you might notice that it is night. So where does all the light come from? From a single flashlight. I picked up a recipe for an atomic battery mod deep inside an ice lab. What it does is it replaces the battery system of a gadget to run off of plutonium, providing 500 charges per pluto unit, maxing out at 50000 charges. As you know flashlights get dimmer as charge is consumed, and conversely, they get brighter the more charge there is. So is the flashlight in the screenshot at full 50k charge? Nope. Just 1000.

If you’re really into trapping, maybe craft a TON of traps, sneak into a town at night, avoid fights and just start dropping traps and mines left and right in the dark.
I found out how much mines hurt. Found some in a boarded up house. I think it’s mechanics that helps disable them. I haven’t leveled mine much. The left arm is now in a splint.
Not Mechanics. It should be Trapping, right? And yes, landmines hurt. That’s why you wear your heaviest unwieldiest armor before you start disarming them, or at least have a ton of medical supplies to deal with an inevitable failure.
I just started, did the “go save my friend” quest and got way too lucky.

Thinking up of setting a brick wall house in the area where I found the lame artifact. The place generates fire from that space, and it could be cool to have a base with that at the center. Of course, there’s always the chance for it to end horribly (fire).
My current incarnation of strung out hobo is a few weeks into spring. Started with far too much fungus to deal with in starting area. Found a LMOE shelter on day 2 and sobered up in it with what food I’d been able to hunt. Also fond some guns. Once I had some decent armour and a backpack, immediately headed south and forged through the forests in the area till found the edge of a city. Wound up exhausting most of my ammunition clearing out an area on the outskirts and some hulks/brutes that came my way. But with prodigious use of molotovs and guns was able to hold them off. Spent the next few days laying low, crafting and resting up wounds.
Since then I’ve managed to get a charcoal kiln made and made a clay crucible. Got a battered but functioning RV parked outside also for once I get the tools needed to fix the thing. Fortifying this small house on the edge of town and slowly turning it into a workshop and warehouse for parts. Even got a garage to tinker in. Currently working on upping building skill to build a rock forge and scavenging more rocks from the area so I can build it. Crude metalworking soon a-go if all goes well.
Also found a lab and already had ID cards. Popped it open and looted some of the first level. Coming back with warmer gear for a proper spelunk later.
