Really odd. Not a lot of NPCs showing up… only two so far in around a week at 10x NPC spawn.
Now I’m wondering if I ran out of NPCs to kill in the area.
To me npcs are lootpiniatas.
Therefor i have them turned of…
I just can t resist to lure them into “fun” stuff and loot them afterwards.
Well that and theire brokenness.
One day i ll reactivate them
I have faith in the devs.
I prefer keeping static NPCs on instead. I just wish there was a way to allow increasing static NPC spawns. Like if there was an option to randomly-spawn a given number of NPCs at the beginning, to supplement fixed spawns.
Does static spawn of NPCs include refugee center? If so I might have to switch to that. My NPC cohorts tend to smash up my vehicles or shoot me in the face while we’re driving, which is very annoying.
Static it is. I had a bunch of crashes this morning so I’m trying to figure out what I want to run now. I did one Bottom of Science Lab that started with me on a pile of plasma rifle. Poor turret tactics ended that one for me. Then I found a teleporter really early. Died to segfault after eating a crapton of mutated body parts. We’ll see what happens next.
Just been doing the outpost missions so far. Due to my habit of nabbing everything, it’s basically just a back and forth job from outpost to base. Still, it’s quite cool to see the outpost develop with each passing mission. Even have invested in some agriculture so I don’t have to do farming.
Now I still need either a computers skill book, or an acetylene torch. Still can’t get into these banks.
EDIT: Ah, the humble machete. I forgot how delightful it can be using one to easily make sushi out of zombies with only modest combat skills and straight-8 stats.
EDIT 2: Jackpot.
EDIT 3: So many fat stacks of book. Hard to sort them all without stopping to read them and/or loading up on redundant books!
Hahaha. I did exactly the same once. Thanked myself for storing all my loot in a shopping cart, grabbed it and buggered out, letting the place burn. There was a nice apartment tower nearby with a comfy basement, so I could sleep without some undead idiot tripping over me.
Can confirm. My current world has: one at evac shelter, another at another evac shelter (eh, why?), a bunch in the refugee centre, a bunch in the fun thing. Those from the ‘fun thing’ aren’t very talkative.
My hobo was doing so well till he broke into a gun store. Apparently FILLED with zombies. 2 brutes, and a half dozen corrosives and various others dogpiled him. Molotovs used up and arrows fired till he got torn apart. It was a fun run whilst it lasted. Time to update experimentals and see what crazy adventures my next hobo gets up to.
Edit: I had hacked down a rear wall. Zombies inside must have set the alarm off and steadily attacked more from the area. leaving a concentrated mob of them to jump on me once i made my dynamic entrance. Oh well!
Not sure about bank doors, but the metal doors of the bunkers ain’t getting cut. I used a torch, then nothing happened except losing around 100 charges off the torch.
Having fun with plain 6/12 character.
Went to nearby mansion thinking it ain’t bad, I have a gun (starting as a spec op).
Holy shit was I wrong, it seems mansions can now spawn with masters!
(Or the rng was beign !!FUN!!)
Well had to torch the place, mansion full of hulks and other nasties ain’t worth it.
Mansions are certainly more enjoyable now, especially once some time passes. Since most of the place is dark indoors, I’ve been fisted through walls by them hulks quite a number of times.
