What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Woaahhh Ptha, what the hell happened to you?

I volunteered for a job here.

Because of this evening’s shenanigans, or was the timing just a coincidence?

Because of today, yes. Something about a hammer and lysol was in that request somewhere too.

More fully, I’ve been sitting on the idea back since the original drama earlier this spring. I refrained then because the tension was so widespread in the forums that I didn’t want to draw ire by attempting cleanup while the forum was on fire. Not that I’d have done anything to provoke, people were just that touchy at the time. Let that thing burn out first before sticking my hands in it, so to speak. Today’s event was more of a tipping point for my modship requesting.

Anyway,

Ingame, I’ve been kiting various angry infighting mobs across a minefield, because my perception for dirt mounds is quite high after finding a couple GRANADES to add to my minmaxing. It’s pretty funny. Then I died because an NPC shot me and I was too in agony to run anymore. WHOOPIEDAIDY.

I’m an early-game survivor, and I’m okay
I loot all night and I sleep all day
(He’s an early-game survivor, and he’s okay
He loots all night and he reads all day)

I gather up loot, I eat and craft
I find first aid kits in the lav’tries
On rainy days I sew up zombie clothes
And grind my tailoring skill
I’m an early-game survivor, and I’m okay

I fight smart, with windows and bushes
I really wish I could find a soldering iron
Alternating between boring skill books and fun novels
And dreaming of my future deathmobile
It’ll be such fun, if I don’t get eaten first
I’m an early-game survivor, and I’m okay

I will be sorely disappointed if you didn’t start as the lumberjack profession. :V
Yeah…

Now to make this my sig.

Worst part is the mods I had on it.
One of my favorite characters was a guy with the internal furnace, expanded digestive system, strong stomach, gourmand, eater of the dead, etc. Every single bionic, trait, or mutation that had anything to do with being able to eat more things and keep them down better.

Rotten corpse of a zombie killed two weeks ago? Yum yum, he’d wash it down with some six-month-old milk and chow down on the curtains for dessert. The fast metabolism stuff he picked up along the way didn’t matter once he could eat pretty much everything in the world except rocks and steel.

A beat up solar car has become my sole light station at night. Solar panels intact, but no wheels or engine. Controls work, so the dome light provides enough light at the very least.

Nope, sorry, I’m RPing as myself so I’m a Student profession. (Though college now instead of high school, but I don’t see that there’s that much of a difference between the two gameplay-wise)

Just found out that downing several adderalls boosts up the chance to install bionics. From 80 percent failure to around 20, which in turn allowed an around zero-skilled character to install an electroshock unit and a joint torsion early on.

In turn, that combination with just around 200 bionic power has turned my centipede-style character into a fisting monster. All those rapid strikes with a chance to shock the zombie being fisted is delicious. It does seem to have a similar effect to being tazed; fisted an NPC who tried to rob me with a wrench. After several rapid fists I just stood there and waited for an hour… and the NPC didn’t move at all.

It definitely worked on a hulk. Got the you shocked the hulk upon punching it, and it wasn’t stunned but it didn’t act much like how a tazer worked on zombies.

Any drawbacks? I have been using heavier drugs for that and unless you have a stockpile of supplies and a bed nearby, it is not too pleasant.

Just a chance for cravings for more of it, from the looks of it. Big morale hit sometimes due to that, but so far no other problems.

You can get heartattacks by using to much uppers. Be careful

Maybe not the right thread for this but I want some input from more seasoned survivors. I’m getting ready to actually start a new recorded series like I promised I would some time back, but I’m trying to figure out what kind of approach I want to go for to make this run a little more interesting than “Chaz runs around a lot until he dies”.

There’s a few things I’ve wanted to try doing, so one of the following approaches might be fun:

Bionic Moth - Trying to get some CBMs installed and get them working - raiding a power substation would be my initial priority
Cataclysm: DIY - Putting some more focus into construction so I can build my own base out in the wilderness, away from the zombies.
Scrapheap Challenge - Putting some focus into mechanics, so I can start working towards building and maintaining my very first custom ride.

As an added option, I could do any of these with my mothy equivalent to the Shower Victim class for a bit of extra shenanigans. Any suggestions, or should I just do what I feel most like doing?

You should always do what you feel like.
But i would like to see chaz the bionik moth lab diving for augmentations  .

Your vision shall be augmented. owo

You do bring up a good point, I should do what I feel like!

Unfortunately I feel like doing all three of these, and yet I feel like it’d be better to focus on one (In part so I can make a character build geared towards it, and in part because I find my Cataclysm experience is a bit more fun if I sorta semi-roleplay it and focus on a small handful of skills, rather than becoming awesome at everything.

Bionic Moth could be fun though! I did have one time during a stream that I got three bionic mods and was pretty jazzed because I was finally gonna get started in the world of bionics… and then an unexpected turret tore me up and left me sad and mildly frustrated. So with that in mind, this time around I’ll attempt to be more careful when it comes to raiding towns.

I think what I’ll do is I’ll combine the Bionic Moth and Cataclysm DIY runs together - I definitely want to build my own base instead of claiming someone else’s house for my own, but I definitely want to try and do bionics as well - the Integrated Toolset could be really really useful!

I’m definitely gonna do my Shower Victim moth build (I’ll explain more about that when I start the video, but it’s basically my currently existing Skybreaker custom class, without any clothes other than a pair of boxer shorts, so I took off a couple points from the cost to balance it out), so that’ll be fun!

I’d start with whichever goal would be most feasible to complete first, which might depend on how your game run goes. Which I know sounds like a thinly-veiled ‘idk either bro’, it totally is. I’d be more interested in the bionic one, or the vehicle venture. What I really like is this goal-driven approach to the game. That’ll make it fun. :B

Well, that either hurt a lot or not at all.

I’ve used LAWs only a few times but that was… unexpected.

Nice, laying down the law on those filthy plant monsters.
