What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Now I’m in the backyard of my old base, reading books while zombie corpses in the spiked moat reanimate and stagger around until they re-die.

What’s your go-to wall type for outdoors? I’m trying palisade for the first time but the free LOS isn’t great and you can’t throw stuff over the walls.

Walls are for silly little dorfs, who cant enjoy the nomad lifestyle of an elf. XP

…but my elf likes the solid rock walls of my refugee center base!

In any case, saving and quitting now. Time to move into experimental.

Granted, I always find it a massive annoyance building up a fort. ;A;

Also, I forgot to mention this earlier, but I’m kinda disappointed that the heavy rail rifle can’t run through several zombies in a line.

I’m disappointed that I can never hit more than one zombie with buckshot at long enough ranges.

Almost each road and motorway out of this goddamn conglomeration seems to be either mined, guarded by tank drones and chicken walkers, or simply leading nowhere.

Chicken walkers seem to be quite dense, as I managed to get away from one by simply jumping on my motorbike and pissing off at 100 kph, yelling ‘Fuck you!’ It did not even try to shoot me.

Surprisingly no labs in the vicinity. But I found a missile silo and electrohack. Yay, goodbye fungal bloom.

I also found something-something H&K rail gun and a plasma engine. C:DDA never ceases to amaze me.

And finally, save data has been moved to experimental.

Not knowing what to expect… someone hold me!

Okay, so far the new Chesthole tileset looks all spiffy. And somehow, I’ve become a melee god of death. An umbrella just impaled a brute for nearly 200 damage, and I’m pretty sure that’s not supposed to happen.

That sounds… incredible. I want to replicate that now.

Seriously, my melee damage has just went through the roof all of a sudden. The bayonet attached to my rifle is exploding zombies for 300 damage.

So… what’s going on?

Huh. I didn’t know they beefed up damage. O.o

Hmm, is this perhaps due to the new skill system. With intcap on, my melee skill on the stable build was 38 before I made the move to experimental.

How low should I lower it?

Not sure, I’ve never toyed with skill rust anyway. ;w;

Well, seems like skills won’t go higher than 10, so I’ll bring down any skill that’s higher than 10.

They finally implemented that skill level 10 cap? Guess that would explain the 200+ damage attacks I’ve been landing on regular zeds barehanded. About time to nerf my 28 melee demigod I suppose.
