New game, increased spawn rate some more. Didn’t have any dodge skills, or a fighting style except brawling so my start at the mall was a bit bloody.
On the other hand, found a mansion, and decided to set up shop there. First night raid was 50-50, or maybe 70-30 in favor of me.
On one hand, near death. Bled, got infected, and all parts are on the low zone. On the bright side, fought and killed a survivor zombie, who had heavy survivor gloves, light survivor boots, and the always useful light survivor suit. Best of all the light survivor suit was only lightly damaged. Among the ones I fought was a Z-9 with an actual kevlar dog harness, which always seems rare to me. Anyways, boot and suit repaired. Gloves are one step to destruction, and I don’t have any soldering iron, so that’s staying in the base.
Best of all, found an atomic nightlight, which is better than no light, and a funnel. Got enough gallon jugs cheap wine to unload from the mansion, so water for now should keep me slaked. For food, most of what I found were ingredient types and junk food, but I should be able to manage.
In any case, my living area in the mansion is at the very entrance. Dragged all sorts of tables and benches close to each other so everything is properly organized. As a great bonus, while the mansion didn’t have a pool it did have a massive library. Aaaaaallll the nice books, I think it’s pretty much nearly everything I need, plus a the book of the five rings.
To keep the prying eyes of NPCs out, I covered the area around my living area in the main hall in two layers of bookshelves. The main entrance only has one, which I drag in to completely seal the area whenever I’m going in or out. Probably not the best wall to cover me up, but it should suffice for now.
