Found a military surplus that was more or less empty… except for one UPS and one power armor.
Like really? Lots of those armors are usually stuffed on bank vaults, and here’s one sitting there on sale.

Started collecting zombie slaves. Keeping them tied up in front of my base like statues. So far, just one zombie, fat zombie, and shocker zombie. Intent to enslave one of each type; the ones that can be slaved, at least.
Disappointed that I can’t use a shocker zombie as a light source.
…on the other hand, I think shocker brutes generate a slightly bigger light radius. Time to find out! For science!
SCIENCE! Slaved a shocker brute, tied him up, and he’s a valid light source.
Light’s weak, reading is slow, crafting is possible. Move over atomic night-lights, the age of shocker brutes has come!
…now, I’m wondering if sticking several shocker brutes in a kind of “C” formation will make the light strong enough for fast reading. It’s a waste of potentially good CBMs, but science! Plus I need lights on my base. I reckon a few strategically placed brutes will suffice and lack the danger of damaged atomic lamps/night lights.
You CAN slave a shocker brute? O_o
SCIENCE!

Yup. They work as a light source. Weak light like being indoors on a windowless room during the day, so reading is slow. On the other hand, crafting and sewing/soldering/repairing works without problems. No atomic nightlights or lamps right now, so general plan is to hunt down shocker brutes and move them indoors on my crafting area.
Also, I used them as throwing practice to get my throwing from zero to two. CRUELTY!

I have seen a few of your posts and I got to say you come up with some great ideas LOL.
Very ingenious
The first house my new Naturalist entered had the following:
2x bottles of clean water
a tailor’s kit
tin of curry
tin of something else
aspirin
Cucina Italiana
and a basement stair in the bathroom, leading to a basement with beds in it and the following
a glowstick
dehydrated meat
some more tins
Under the Hood
Tao of the Handgun
a 44 Magnum with ammo
one of the .223 rifles with ammo
Looks like I’ll be making this house my base once the area around is moderately safe. The window in the bathroom looks to empty fields and not the rest of the town.
Seeking out more zombies to fill my collection. Skeletons, all dogs, children are out, so I guess it’s a matter of size… though I wonder if zombears or antlered horrors can be slaved. Boomers can’t be done, but I’m gonna try to move a spitter corpse on advanced inventory and see if I can turn into a lawn ornament.
As for the rest, still need zombie cop, technician, hazmat, normal brute, zombie master, scarred, scientist, bio-operator, necromancer, and hulk to complete the collection. If I really want a complete collection, I could try setting up a cage of sorts to store the ones I can’t turn into zombie slaves.
And of course, collect enough brutes to light up my base.
To build a cage would reqiure an wall that cant be destroyed is there such a craftable item? I dont know would be cool though
Also
What would be cool is a glass displayu cabinet to place taxidermist monsters in

Wow, I really need to try neutering zombies instead of just butchering them. o.o

I don’t know myself; In general, it seems that I can slave up the bigger zombies. The weaker ones like skeletons and zombie children can’t be slaved, so putting one in a one-tile room made of stone or log with metal bar windows might keep them there. Only one way to find out.
Haven’t encountered a hulk yet, but normal and shocker brutes are slavable.
i am now out of food, walking around in winter show fleeing animals at horizon but i am looking for predators but only predators what i meet is antler horror good that i found triffid gove because i can life on eating plant marrow
Found a hulk, but unfortunately quite far from my spot. I kill it, but not before I get thrown into a window. Somehow rubble didn’t come crashing into me. I suppose I was too overconfident. Still, no rubble meant I wasn’t trapped, so I manage to kill it, and set it up for slaving. Couldn’t stuff it into my cart, so I leave it there and I plan to pick it up in a day.
I come back, I see the hulk, I didn’t pay attention. Sent flying again, but thankfully I’m out in the open street and I land without too much damage done. Kill, and try to slave it again.
Next day it finally works. I spent the rest of the night pushing it to my base while it’s tied up, because it tends to stray off when I try to make it follow me.
The remaining zombies I gotta collect:
Bio-Operators
Grabber
Decayed
Cop
Scarred
Fungal
Master
Thriller
Scientist
I think. Not sure if some of those can be slaved. So far, the only ones who can’t be slaved are child and skeleton, and the animals. Boomers, bloated, and smokers are out, too.
You can’t neuter the zombie animals?
Muh realisms. ;w;
Not exactly sure. Haven’t encounter zombears and antlered horrors since I’m so far out from a forest.
Would be funny to try.
I still find it funny to refer to enslaving zombies as neutering them. >w>
I found a perfect, randomly generated “X” made out of water tiles in the middle of a street. Looked like this:

Ehh, mildly interesting I guess. Think I’ll use it as a spot to sacrifice items to the RNG gods every now and then.
I like to think that things like this are intentionally generated for some reason…
Woah. owo
Because I’m very stingy with first aid kits for some reason, despite being quite abundant in supply of them, I decided to cauterize an infected wound. Usually I need to do it twice at most, but this time it took around eight tries to clean to wound.
I found a refugee center for the first time. The merchant wanted me to clear out an area of it so I opened up a boarded window, grabbed one of the pickups nearby and ran over a dozen Zs to make everyone happy. Found a bubble car and I’m using it to haul all my loot from the mansion I was staying at to the center including half the library. If I can just find a wrench I’ll be all set now and I can make some sort of deathbus behemoth.
