What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

thats why i use ANBC suit when using granades

I had gotten the impression it was a buff of some sort. so I threw it from basically the front door of my base.

It can give you permanent stat buffs. It can also significantly reduce your stats, heal you completely, or spawn unkillable, unstoppable beeeeeeeeessssssssss.

great. good to know that now.

so you’re saying there’s a chance it could summon nick cage?

I have only used one so far and the result was bees. But ^this^ seems like it is probably the most common result

You people do not carry the granades to a kathedral where you put them together in a pile and sacrifice stuff every now and then?

I have no knowledge on the correct usage of grandees. I was afraid to do spoilers. I was all like >.< NO I will not ruin this surprise for myself. I will throw it myself and see what happens. Approaching something like 3 days without sleep due to enormous pain fluctuations is what happens :frowning:

I threw my first granade at a cluster of enemies thinking it was a grenade.
It exploded in a cloud of fun.

lucky bastard. Found mine in a random pile of crates in a random forest edge 4 squares down 2 left of my base and nowhere near anything else. looked closely at everything. Heard only good things about granade and thought Cool free buffs! NO… pain. Much pain. my poor char. bounces back and forth between about 2300 and 2700 or so.

When i said fun i meant dieing from beeing killed by the creatures i intended to blow up due to high ammounts of pain.

lucky bastard. I am stuck trying to nurse this character around with no sleep and 348952093845 messages of “ouch, you are hurt, stop _____” “Y/N?”

Stop hurting yourself.

moving tends to “hurt” myself. Or standing or laying perfectly still. standing in a horde of bees until they all sting themselves to death tends to do that.

for a long time i used to love the insomniac trait because it has been oh so easy to gulp some cough syrup and go to sleep despite =)

and here comes 0.C cooper… suddenly my pers develops a sleeping pill dependance after so much as three or four servings, just in one night!

i love the way devs respond to our “clever” ways of abusing the game =) but four servings in one go should probably give you a poisoning rather than a dependance? while a regular use over a week would result in a dependance?

well, just a couple of thoughts, not a rant =)

Haven’t played in about a year, started in a gun shop which was great for a starting base then I got frustrated because the entire start town didn’t have a single wrench to be found. I packed up all my goodies into an RV and headed south where I found another small township, first hardware store and BAM! (wrench). Was considering where I wanted to bunker down and build a base I decided to fill up my RV at the nearest gas station, unfortunately I got a bit to close to one of the pumps and this happened.

All my guns, meds, tools and food in two compartments blown to pieces leaving me standing there in the rain with what I could only imagine to be a rather sour look on my face. At least I have my wrench…

The game still reminds me that it hates my guts, I love that.

So, I had the…ahem, bright idea of genning a world with a winter start, while also turning item spawns and city density down, and monster spawns up.

In retrospect, turning item spawns to the fucking minimum was a bad idea.

Via the “roguelike classes” mod, I decided to run around as a barbarian. I DID cheat a bit by changing the barbarian loadout to start with a fur cloak, and traded the fur hat for a bone armor helmet to match the gauntlets and boots. That 4 encumbrance penalty to perception, which I left at 8, will probably fuck me over if I encounter any traps. Already savescummed because I blundered into a sinkhole exploring a nearby patch of swamp. ._.

The cabin I spawned in has decent wildlife, so meat and pelts are easily found, and I’m loving the tanbark and tainted tallow that made it into 0.C. Getting basic tools was harder, as even rocks were hard to find. Eventually I realized that 14 strength, plus battleaxe, plus the walls of a nearby lab bunker, equals an easy source of rock.

Now I’m trying to scavenge enough crap to build a wooden vehicle frame and slap a wooden board on it so I can batter a hole into the lab bunker’s back, and push that item in as cover from the turret in the hall. o3o

This is why I love this game. You can’t deal with things the usual way? Improvise. It’ll be awesome

I kinda wish I could just rip a chunk off the military vehicle I saw on the road and push that into the breach, but sadly I can’t. Discovered that if a piece of frame is the only point of attachment for an isolated section, no amount of “Gor SMASH!” will decouple it. I kinda figured you couldn’t split vehicles, but I was tempted to try anyway. o3o

I also wish I had enough duct tape for a screwdriver, as SMASHing stuff instead of deconstruction is a bit of a waste.

you could however smash the rest of the vehicle you want to sever completely. if the part your smashing isn t needed to keep the thing connected it can be braught down completely. This way i get the trunk of vehicles without any skills if i need one for transportation.
