Started out in a cabin. Spawn Scaling 6, slow zombies, Item Spawns 0.5.
Spent a few days playing around in the woods, craeting basic gear, leveling my unarmed arsekicking skills against the local wolves. Cleared out a mansion to the north, then decided to try a nighttime raid on a town to the east.
Well, I got in, and due to my Spawn Scaling setting of 6, found that once day came I was rather more surrounded that I liked. I managed to escape the locals, and THOUGHT I had made it to safety, only to find a day later that the local Horde had managed to follow me the whole way. Well, cabins are not the most defensible locations, and though I had had plans to change that, the horde came along before defenses were even remotely ready. I was forced to retreat rather swiftly upon the sight of a tank and his friends approaching my front gate.
I retreated to the north, to the mansion I cleared out before, to rest and restock on ammo for my bow and slingshot. Thus fortified, I have been poking away at the edges of the forest that contains my cabin. Thus far, no more Horde Z’s on the map, but lots of zombies spawned in during my escape, and I am struggling to take them down with fairly basic gear. Most of them are fine, but I just had to retreat from a Shocker Brute, who shrugged off my arrows and laughed as he fried me. Barely got away, even with Slow Zombies.
I need to be careful about this.
