Wondering why, exactly, eating an apple/banana disappeared my infections entirely despite them not even being ‘healthy’. The character is “Infection Resistant”, but it’s kinda contrived coincidence that infections disappeared at exactly the same moment I ate it.

Raided 3 military outposts that were spawned almost next to eqvh other. Nighttime and full nightvision safed me from the turrets that were busy shooting the zombie soldiers and bio ops. I now have 20 military id cards, lots of kevlar for my survivor suit and plenty MREs. The bionics from the bio ops weren’t that cool, I need more first aid and electronics to even try installing them anyways.
I also found a mininuke. Ripe in peas, fungal tower.
Now heading to the military bunker for sweet loot.
Speaking of prisons, they actually make very good houses. Well, at least two versions ago they did, don’t know about now because didn’t find one yet.
It was also fun to look after the caged zeds unable to break out and just shambling around in their cells.
I’ll investigate that… They seem like very defensible position, typically away from cities, fenced up, lots of scrap…
After modding in a really crappy knife I could make without a previous knife… I’ve spend the past four days killing wolves, chopping trees, and lugging logs into the second LMOE shelter I found, which is the closest to the farm I located. Trying to fortify it a bit, then maybe get back to the farm for the rest of the stuff I left there. No sign of any cities anywhere, though I have found a military outpost, a lab, two anthills, a fungal tower, missile silo, and cave. Everything except what I need. And no salt or salt water to tan hides either.
I’m just hiding out in a hole in the ground as the world continues to collapse, apparently.

You can make a makeshift knife with a rock, scrap metal and small strings. Just so you know!

Hard do do that when you have no metal and no string. Had to have a knife to get sinew to make a stone knife, so had to make myself a quick fix for that. But once the one first step was done, I seem to be doing well. Got a nice set of pit traps going now, tons of wooden spikes being installed, loads of meat… Just need some salt to tan the leather with. ATM I have been throwing pelts and meat into my stove as well so they don’t rot.

Ah good to know! Yeah if you can’t grab the string for a makeshift or stone knife then that can be a death sentence.
You don’t have to smash windows to get string; you can just examine them with the curtains closed and tear off the curtains.
Also, remember that if you can’t find a string to make a stone knife, a withered plant found in underbrush will now do.
I didn’t know about the withered plant one. Thanks for that!
Well I just had a short, successful but fun survivor meet his end.
Day 1 found fitting swat armour and a fireaxe. Survived a few brutes punching him about the next few days. Cleared a megamall with the axe and a scavenged simple flamethrower. Ran down a shocker brute with a police car. Which sadly killed the engine. Literally nothing there where the engine should be now. Then got killed when he got woken up by another shocker brute that got into my safehouse in the night then proceeded to punch me through the wall and into a pack of zombies that were outside. Who proceeded to tear him apart. Oh and he also LAW’d another survivor to death that turned hostile and had an automatic rifle. There’s no kill like overkill.

Rough way to go. Did you board up the windows and stuff before going to sleep? I make a point of doing that or something like it if for some reason I’m sleeping in an unsafe area.
don’t sleep in a bed close to the wall, they can hear/smell you through it. Had a hulk once wake my character up by tearing through a house wall for huggles. When in doubt sleep downstairs.

Cool run though :)
Or surround yourself with landmines, it always works 10% of the time, all the time.
