Clubbed a chickenwalker to death with cudgel, ewok-style. Took some preparation and two nights of clubbing. The resulting explosion nearly killed me, and then a coyote appeared out of nowhere and tried to eat my face so I (just barely) clubbed him to death too.

We are pleased to be able to feed our local guide more effectively. We despise that noxious substance we have learned tempts our guides away with the lure of becoming a “space snake”, whatever that might be, and suggest that such blandishments are merely a ruse to undermine the Mycus. Are not our unity and oneness far more ~pleasurable~ than being a frozen, asphyxiated reptile lost in an endless Void?

Oh, I get that, and I tend to agree. Still, there was a lot of hauling involved in getting those 15 samples.
Let me put it this way: Seeing as how I’m about to culminate two years of effort by becoming something more than human, you’re pretty lucky that I left the boxers on for the screenshot.

I am a dead man. I was at a loss for how to continue with the Mycus, so I went and rolled around in a fugal spire area for a bit, got a fungal infection…
and now I am going to die.

Now my badass machete wielding guy must look ridiculous with furry insectile skin, but he’ll probably wear loads and loads of clothes to hide it. I also became ‘Extremely Smart’ so that’s a win I guess.

It’s a pretty positive mutation though, and gives some nice warmth. Maybe with internal climate control I can actually venture to the bottom of the lab now.

You’ve suffered impatience leading to a poor choice of places in which to roll around. Get some sleep and see if that cures the problem.
(Most Mycus mutations happen in your sleep, not from eating the stuff. It’s your food now, not a funapple.)
