What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Just moved into a new town and while scavenging for parts I noticed an incoming horde. In a panic I started looking for weapons. I found a Desert Eagle and 50 rounds for it, A Remington 700 and 20 rounds for it, and about 160 loose shotgun shells.

A lot of panic and about two pipe shotguns later, I’ve resecured the town. Time to clean up the bodies…

Huh. How exactly am i supposed to battle fungal flower? I had to take meth to outrun it converting the forest, and almost ran of incendiaries before finally managing to ignite everything. I guess i wont have many tainted veggies from this fungal area.

Almost died from fire when comedown started, speed down to 25 is no fun.

How do various fungal things work, anyway? I vaguely remember that killing the central fungus should stop the growth, but apparently it wasnt the case with the flower.

There’s an uber flower you have to kill as well as the little ones.

Yes, the central one. But the fungus was still spreading when i killed it (the tan 7s, dont remember their name, were still puffing stuff out and converting terrain to fungal, which was converting the trees, and it almost get out of hand. And this forest borders my base, so i had to torch it down quickly.

Suicide gas-tank bomber. (Use little gas tanks)
Remote rams. I can pulverize buildings or enemies in safety.
While scavenging in the city. I can make a car honk its horn, meaning I can use it to draw zombies away at night.
I can have my own mini tank drone, using the vehicle turrets mod.

made a new world where I didnt set activate the “mundane zombies” mode (because I’m still fucking new and I’d rather learn without a throusand tanks on my ass) and wanted to do the lab challenge for shit and giggles
but after setting up my character, I spawned in the middle of the forest. Found some bodies, so got clothed. Go to near farm, find scynthe, M39 with 100 rounds of .22 and a laser sight. Got out, found two MBR vests with steel plating and a working police car with gasoline and enough battery to start the fuck up.
Got to a town, gas pumps didnt fucking work, got to a garage, found a pawn shop and a zweihander in it, and there’s a mil surplus store and 3 gun shops on the same fucking street.
I feel like this one’s gonna be pretty wild.

I got out of the lab and took refuge in the FEMA camp next door (Which is hilariously dark when you think about it) and after a couple days, my spider mutant travelled south along a road to a town, which was just SWARMING with blobs. SWARMING.

I set out on a great blob purge with my combat knife.

Blackhawk Down just happened. Go scavenge the wreckage. Bring a shovel and clear up the rubble, there’s probably going to be some loot under it. I’ve found some pretty cool stuff in those scrap heaps, from MBR vests with all kinds of plating, to LAWs, to some rarer military CBMs.

It’s not metal wreckage around the raging fire, it’s actual items. A lot of them. It’s like a vehicle had been destroyed there. But it’s a little field, an empty lot, between two buildings, in the middle of the town and I just walked though that. There was nothing in it.

Edit: Fire finally died down and I can see what was underneath it. Final tally is:
64 chunk of steel
72 scrap metal
62 lump of steel
and in the center square:
shredded pair of boots (fits)
brunt zombie child corpse

Can they spawn with live explosives/ordnance?

Btw, finding a pair of boots in the middle of an explosion is kinda hilarious, kudos to the maker if it was intentional.

holy shit, what happened?
I was looting shit using my policecar after stashing all my shit in it. Went to a gun shop, saw 5 zeds plus a tough zombie and a decayed zombie (why the fuck are these so fast?). Managed to loose them long enough to jump innagunstore to grab all the shit i could and bailing the fuck out.
Went to another garage. 6 Zs were waiting for me there. Went out and dealt with them using SP.40, zweihander and fire axe. I opened the garage and inside it were 6 zombies. Went apeshit and tried to use my car to ram them the fuck out of the way. Ended up T-boning another car, shredding my fucking legs off.
Zombies tried to get me inside the car but muh mighty sig got them.

After finally finding a decent evacuation center, carefully turning all the stuff into useful parts and such, I managed to get killed by a coyote. Rage quit for an hour or so, then decided to start a new world as a scoundrel. I really hate coyote, they hit and run and generally irritate me. It’s a good thing they’re not that nasty in real life, but experience IRL has shown a normal sized, adult human is in pretty much no danger from even a group of them as they tend to scatter as soon as one gets hit, but I digress. I also had a character die after running into a zombear on a scooter this afternoon while trying to work out the vehicle mechanics, which was pretty lulzy.

Been going well so far, I’ll likely board up the shelter for now. Managed a couple of daytime raids on houses and a sporting goods store which netted me a bit of gear and the like. Killed a few zombies along the way. I was kind of worried about being only five map tiles from the edge of town, but with static spawns and a distinct lack of ridiculous enemies I think it’s a pretty big town so I read until nightfall and am planning on going and raiding a few houses as I haven’t found any water yet and didn’t have enough space for a cooking utensil when I found a kitchen full of them. I did find a coffee maker though, so if I find some batteries I’ll be good on water. I might pull the battery from my flashlight if I need to. Also found a backpack and a trench coat while I was wandering around. Hopefully I can find a basement with some guns for panic situations, that would be nice.

Which probably means I’m going to run into a hulk inside a basement or something when I start the game back up, but c’est la vie.
