What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Nah, I’m not planning on making my base here, but I entered the shipping area and I’m raiding the crates in storage with a crowbar I found earlier. I’ve finally reached a body temperature that’s neither too warm nor too cold, and I managed to nick a bicycle from one of the shops in the mall, too, so I’ve got a very basic form of transport now, which I will soon be able to modify. As soon as I can find a hacksaw, anyways.

Shipping area is fine, just don’t go into the shops and such. You’ll get mobbed.

You know… …that town you found meets the criteria I mentioned to build the RMCC…

You could totally build your own super-vehicle.
Decide to go to sleep in a random house while scavenging in a town. I clear out zombies nearby, barricade up a room by boarding windows and moving furniture to block, and then proceed to fall asleep. Next thing I know, I get woken up with the message, “A piercing beam of light bursts forth!” and “You hear crash!”. I look and there is a hole in the wall, my bed I was sleeping on has been destroyed, but I am unharmed and there is no sign of what caused the hole. Looking outside the hole, I don’t see anything in the 10 tiles of vision the moonlight provides. I am about to leave when a ‘hunting horror’ comes running in and another ‘piercing beam of light’ burst out and hits me, wrecking the floor and bringing my torso health to half. I have never seen a hunting horror before, so I assume that this is what is causing these light beams of death so I quickly switch to my shotgun and fire point blank into this creature’s face. Headshot, 148 damage, and yet the creature is still alive. The creature seems to shrug off the round and starts approaching, and I am panicking because I will not likely survive another one of those beams, so crossing my fingers I fire at it again.

Critical, 126 damage, yet this monstrosity is coming at me like nothing happened. It melees me, but luckily I block the attack and my reinforced cargo pants absorbs the rest of the attack. I once again fire, knowing this may be my last change… Headshot, 149 damage, the beast finally is slain. Congratulating myself on killing this newly found creature, I start to walk outside room to pack up and leave this cursed house. I exit the bedroom and try to shut the door behind my when all the sudden I notice the door is gone. Another ‘piercing beam of light’ just came by and destroyed the door behind me. Apparently the hunting horror was not the cause of the light beams, so now I am on the run from something I can not see, yet can clearly see me through the darkness, and that I know nothing about.
There’s probably a nether portal nearby…

My new character in v0.B began the apocalypse as a cop. I immediately noticed a gun store just across the street from the station I started in, and had to juggle priorities as I dashed back and forth around the starting town to find some storage clothes. Eventually I found a military rucksack, threw it on, then ran back to the gun store, grabbing extra ammo, a Mossy 500 and a G36, before hauling ass.

The police station in the next town over actually had a functioning car–non-broken engine, non-smashed controls, 4 good wheels, 3% gas, and (surprisingly) 19% battery–but it was parked behind another totally trashed cruiser. So I had to back up, go forward, back up to smash out the chain fence behind me before I could get out.

I tried pulling up to the gas station to refill, but to my utmost annoyance, both pumps came up “out of order”. I thought, fuck it and just drove off down the nearby road…

… to find a FEMA camp. I parked, stepped out with my shotgun in hand, and proceeded to drop the zombified soldiers like flies. After busting into one of the tents (which turned out to be an equipment storage), I found an M27 IAR.

Mopping up the regular zeds was a piece of cake. After the whole thing, I still have, in reserve, 69 (hehe) rounds of .45 ACP, 42 rounds of 5.56 NATO, and 35 shotgun shells. I like this playthrough so far. I might even survive to Day 2!

Started a new game in 0.B

Gonna start in an evac shelter, shower victim profession.

If I don’t freeze to death on day one I will continue posting my shenanigans here.

Craft wooden needle, rip all the curtains. EZ PZ.

Managed to survive the encounter and came back during the day with a sniper rifle. Found the creature that was causing the laser beams, but ran out of ammo trying to snipe it down (seriously, whats with all these creatures shrugging off 100+ dmg headshots.) Did not find a nether portal but did find a new berry bush that I have never seen before. Can’t risk trying to go for it now, but given the enemies around I am guessing that they are some really spoilery. Even if I could reach that plant, it is too early in my run (Spring day 12) to risk losing my character trying out something new.

Got bit at the start of the game, wandering from place to place trying to get my game started and hoping I’ll find disinfectant. Wound progresses to infection and I’m about to sit down and decide I’m fucked when I run into an NPC:

What are you doing?

I’m looking for people to help.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRADE?

I sold him three Katanas for a fuckton of money and medical supplies.

If there are marloss bushes in the middle of nowhere, chances are, the portal is really, really close by. I suggest avoiding it for now. The portal tends to spawn nether-creatures from time to time. Most of them deadly to early-game survivors. I’m currently in the middle of acquiring enough resource to seal away the portal that I found in my game.

portals actualy spawn monsters now? not only few of it and no new later?

The new zombie bashing code is game-changing. A handful of zombies or a few strong zombies working together can tear down anything short of a stone wall. A horde can turn a house into a pile of rubble in hours. And what’s more, they can actually damage me now.

... Oh sweet jesus.. Today's goals.. Find a Refugee Shelter Become BFFs with Old Guard RANDOM HORDE ATTACK Play like the Last Stand. After battle is lost, flee into wilds, if death... Respawn as random civ running from chaos. KEEP TRYING until finally fleeing. "Hide" in a Science Lab. Get killed, but rp as if I was kidnapped and experimented on. Go play like the Last Stand 2. FIND UNION CITY (Large city in map.) Perform an actual last stand.

Made a night-time run on a library a little bit into a town (have 2.0 spawns and size 8 cities) and got badly hurt, grabbed a bunch of books and headed back to shelter I’ve set up in. Got harassed by a z-9 along the way then out of desperation I drop a newspaper page and set it on fire and engaged the Z-9 in melee (to keep it in the fire) somehow I am still alive with a sliver of torso and head health and the Z-9 is dead again it’s a clear path back from here nothing else in pursuit.

THEY CAN DAMAGE FLAME! WE ARE DOOMED!

By fire be purged ! /throws burning paper piece

How do you seal portals? Not explosives, I remember how that went.

GOOD GOD.

I ported my OP character into a new world (goodbye bike) and had to flee from the horde into the sewers. I like the new zombies, they actually scare me.

I smashed up a wreck for metal. I needed the metal so that I could replace all the roofs in the Solar Roller VI with heavy duty roofs. Now there is a second round of zombies incoming. This time I’m holed up in a boarded up garage. Shit.

EDIT: AWW SHIT THEY ARE ALREADY HERE I THOUGHT I HAD MORE TIME FUUUUUCK

EDIT2: Two houses are rubble, the wreck I banged on so much scrap metal. It is engulfed in a house-sized crowd of zombies. They seem to be content to stay there. They have not discovered my hidey hole. I see all with the help of my clairvoyance staff.

EDIT3: Eyebots roam the streets, alerted by the zombies’ smashing of a nearby (automatic) gas station. Several corpses surround the blown-out gas pumps.

EDIT4: More zombies are coming in from the left, where the gas station is. The crowd of zombies grows. Still no zombies come near my garage.

I Freaking love this. thought you were safe in your house? nope, now even the walls give into the zombies might.
