What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

I’ve been having a lot of fun with hordes lately.

This particular episode occurred in the evening near a mine. I saw a bunch of zombies on the edge of the screen, which means with my luck there are a few hundred more. So I get out of my car and prepare for the slaughter. Night falls. Most of the zombies are coming from the west, so I fall into the routine of walking west, picking up zombies, leading them to my slaughtering pile, kill them, and repeat. During all this the game gives me a few ‘Debug: Zombie already at x,y’. I shrug it off. As the zombies slow to a trickle and stop, I see a glowing shocker to the north. I walk north to see about a hundred zombies amid the trees. They’re all grouped around a few trees. What probably happened was one zombie whacked the tree, which attracted a few more zombies, who whacked on trees, who attracted the whole horde. AND THERE’S A HULK, WHICH BY THE LOOKS OF IT HAS RACKED UP QUITE A FEW KILLS.

Has anyone ever found hordes in a world where they were not originally turned on from the start? I’m curious as to how far from already discovered map tiles you have to go for them to generate so I can join in on this fun.

Pfft Zombears are easy… (Okay seriously though, how my character managed to do this I have no clue)

Now if Only I knew how to drive.

I know that feeling bro.

That’s actually somewhat historically accurate.
At least more so than guys in full platemale going on foot.

Figured out driving, only took my entire stash of batteries to make repairs, but I figured it out! And I raided a liquor store! In the Day! With a Zweihänder! Cleared the place out, and now the fridge in my Fire Station has enough alcohol to last for the next few years! Oh, and there is two barrels of Single Malt Whiskey in the garage.

In other news, I found a shopping cart.

Another horde later, I have surpassed 10,000 kills.

I built a wooden barrel to get some salt water from a swamp.
I got there and filled it up then tried carrying it back to my LMOE when all of a sudden a spitter zombie attacks me with acid, i put the barrel down cos i can’t fight effectively with it in my hands.
Dispatch the zombie and then go get the barrel, except the barrel dissolved in the acid…

Build new barrel and try again.
This time NPC goes agro on me and i drop the barrel immediately.
Knock him around with my quarterstaff when all of a sudden he explodes and my barrel is destroyed.
Goddamnit.

You were just punished for your blasphemy.
Wooden barrels must only hold booze!

You’re confusing wooden barrels with kegs. Which are significantly less bothersome to build.

I decided to try my hand at the “Really Bad Day” start, the extra 10 points was just too tempting.

Well, this doesn’t seem like a very ‘unlucky’ spawn to me.

70% gas and 70% electricity, brand new with no car parts damaged, drove out and ended up finding food, water, decent clothes and a first aid kit and found a nice place to call home for now.

Luckiest unlucky spawn ever.

All Marloss Man Reborn needs now is Artificial Night Generator. Where can it be found? Lab finales?

I think they can spawn in banks. fairly certain I found one there many versions ago.

biooperators (used to) drop’em

Well, in my apocalypse, I had my world randomly set to winter, so I have frostbite, scarves, and I have yet to find a town that has a decent supply of anything other than zombies.

Except guns and ammo. Lots of guns and ammo. Especially of the kind that fits guns that I haven’t found yet. And I don’t have the recipes for makeshift versions of them, assuming they exist.

I did find a katana though. Has anyone noticed that zombie children are impossible to hit in melee?

bio_night? Butcherable, rarity 5. Fairly uncommon but not out of the question.

Context?

Survived first very bad day.

I really love the new difficulty additions to the game. A lot of it is still luck based, but it’s a good start.

Finally found one of those horror spawning fault lines…but it doesn’t spawn any horrors. Was looking forward to making a base smack dab in front of it and building up an artifact vault.
