What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Pretty confident that we got a fix merged for that one.

I found Facial Distortion in a lab finale, so now I only need Bionic Claws, Heat Drain, Artificial Night Generator, and Shockwave Generator. Where can I find them/what can I kill to get them?

EDIT: On a completely unrelated note, four quantum solar panels seems to be enough to keep my car charged. Do quantum solar panels give as much power as the old solar panels? The Solar Roller IV only had 4 solar panels.

IIRC they give 5x what a normal solar gives. (and upgraded give 2x, but can also be reinforced)

Once I decided to try to dispatch a shocker brute and his evil technician henchmen by blowing them up in their power substation base. I threw the C-4 and ran away, and checked out the damage and got a surprise when the chainlink fence was blown up but the shocker brute and his followers were still alive.

This character was my longest surviving character, 11 days ;-(

Note to self, when plotting to blow up a shocker brute, include way more dynamite.

The Solar Roller V now has full battery for the first time since I built it, almost two in-game years ago. Quantum solar panels FTW!

EDIT: I finished my collection of backpacks. I put them all on and now I have 37 torso encumbrance, but 1178 storage volume. When Marloss Man Reborn goes to a new world, he’s bringing EVERYTHING.

I’ve killed a shocker brute with a two by four.

Skrubs

I just started up a game of Cata in the newest experimental. It’s been a long time since I played, I stopped shortly after the latest stable was released. Played too much, got burnt out.

So the scenarios look awesome, but to get the hang of things again I just went with your basic evacee scenario.

My evac shelter is surrounded by houses…full of zombie dogs, children, skeletons, and tough zombies…

I’ve never seen this before…im a bit nervous about this characters future. I hate having to run from my shelter before I can prepare effectively.

You may have found me, monster, but you’ll have a hell of a time killing me!

Glorious.

Any time someone praises me, I’m putting it in my sig.

I just recently realized, that it is no good idea, to butcher an animal in the forest with a good number of wolves strolling around.

I got simultaneaously mauled by six wolves, even though my character was a hardened survivor he quickly bled to death.

Lesson: Wolves go batshit crazy once they smell raw meat.

Two labs later, I have 6 quantum solar panels and Heat Drain. 3 left!

I have to go through a huge horde to get to my destination.

BUT I FEAR NO EVIL FROM THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH

FOR I AM DRIVING THE BADDEST THING IN THE VALLEY

So Murdoc Jackson has been having one hell of an apocalypse. Once a humble scientist, Murdoc decided that living cowering in a evac shelter post-cataclysm was no way to live. He was going to reclaim the world with the power of !!SCIENCE!!. After some preliminary scouting and looting, Murdoc was kitted out pretty badass. Leather trenchcoat, kevlar vest, and a ruger redhawk with an obscene amount of ammunition. Murdoc had become the epitome of the post-apocalypse cowboy. He decided to take up smoking, as it was relaxing and made him look more badass.

Knowing that labs contained some pretty sweet gear that would help him survive, Murdoc took an ID card from a dead scientist and cracked open a science lab to see what supplies he could gather. The result was a large amount of CBMs, some various loot, and a few vials labelled “Lizard Serum”. Back when he was still a scientist, mutagenic experiments were all the rage and he knew full well that they could give some pretty sweet advantages. After installing the CBMs he decided to become more than human, and injected himself with both vials.

After some agonizing mutation, Murdoc was a new man. Well, maybe man is the wrong word. His face extended into a snout, his skin became thick and scaly, he sprouted fangs and grew considerably larger. Murdoc was now a cyborg lizardman. He donned an XL gasmask he found, to help conceal his condition from people who may be frightened by it.

After sleeping off the unpleasent effects of the mutations, Murdoc decided it would be a good idea to settle down and find a place to make a stronghold of some kind. While trekking through the woods he found a mansion, and met Hula Rendon. Hula seemed to not mind his fearsom visage, and wanted Murdoc to track down and kill a jabberwok. Unfortunatly for them both, the damn thing was literally sitting in the woods a few hundred meters away, and came bounding out at them.

Adopting his best Clint Eastwood stance, Murdoc drew his pistol and fired 6 shots in quick succession. Unfortunately, he was still pretty rubbish with a gun, and only hit the thing a few times. He frantically fed his gun more rounds as the creature bounded closer, howling and gurgling. Hula decided to help a bit, and threw a few arrows at the creature, wounding it. The monster reached Murdoc and slashed him up a bit. Murdoc knew he was going to die if he couldn’t end this quickly, but lucky for him aiming is not difficult when your opponent is beside you. He aimed his gun at what he figured might be the creature’s head, pulled the trigger, and blew it to several bloody lumps.

Thus began a fruitful friendship. Hula taught Murdoc some important skills, like marksmanship and dodging, and Murdoc supplied her with a better bow and arrows. The two of them found an LMOE shelter in the woods away from most threats, and set up a base camp there. But Murdoc slept uneasily most nights, plagued with dreams of living as a lizard person. He needed more serum, it was driving him mad!

He then resolved to find more labs. Leaving Hula to guard their home, he set out to find more labs, and some clues as to how he could make his posthuman transformation complete. Finally, after battling a large amount of turrets and undead bio operators, Murdoc found a book with the recipe he needed. All that was left was to train his chemistry skills and research. He would become complete.

EDIT: BLAST AND DAMNATION! He can make lizard serum, but doing so requires lizard mutagen, which he still does not know how to make. What a pain!

DOUBLE EDIT: Anyone know where to find reptile eggs?

During the spring and summer, (e)xamine underbrush to look for stuff. Reptile eggs are pretty rare.

The last of my ram broke off when I hit a shocker brute. I got out of the car and started killing zombies. When all was said and done, I killed over 200 zombies before nightfall. I’m sleeping now.

I attempted to perform city wide alchemy on the zombies using shittons of gasoline and a lighter.

the upside: I successfully transmuted the town
The downsides: 1) it was to ash, 2) I was in the circle

Once, I went to a regional school thinking I could find books and constantly read to keep my morale and focus up.

Got to the school and after opening the front doors that it was packed with zombified children and their teachers. I started running past them opening and closing class room doors, looking for an alternative exit while setting fire to the destroyed doors in a panic… realized there were none, but not before getting trapped in the bathroom. I manage to break through the group surrounding me, a total of about 5-6 zeds and “zedrin” only to realize that A: I needed to get back through the front door and B : the hallway leading to the door was blocked by smoke and a raging inferno.

I’m sure you all know the rest.

You epicly dashed through the fire without setting yourself ablaze and escaping into the sunset with a choppah!

…Or most probably, you have died a painful death. Am I right?

Rofl.

So it turns out vaguely reading a book on First Aid and taking a bunch of meth is NOT a substitute for actual years of surgical ability. Wasn’t aware that failing a faulty bionic removal was so harmful it could kill me from nearly full-health.
