What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

i am still looting a lab its -97 C and my 3 katanas and combat knife are now smashed (but i still have 3 reinforced combat knifes with me) alslo i have problems with transporting my stuff i just repaired military truck at sacrophagus (try mine all these iron doors without hazmat or ANBC suit) and changed it to have more storage now i drive from lab to my base

Also, I find your lack of faith in clothes to be disturbing…
may the clothes be with you
So miss ‘Meow’ (aka Big Bird) has stumbled upon her worst horror yet! The Spider Basement!

an entire basement that’s wall to wall spiders! And not just any spiders, nooo. It’s black widows.
What a time to lose all the extra armour to a bad back.

Do you have any damaged atomic powered things in your inventory? Just as damaged batteries will leak charge over time damaged radioactive things will leak radiation over time.
Ah, I had a damaged advanced UPS at the time. Good to know for the future.

My randomly generated character (a forgetful, 6-int, 6-str survivor which started with 3 good perks (of which I can only remember cannibal), and about 4 level 2 skills) has finished gathering resources. There are no decent, easy places left to loot, so I will have to start crafting a decent car and start moving around. Which will be literally held together by duct tape.

I have everything I need to survive in the wilderness, and plenty of skills (Day 14 Spring, 30-day seasons), except I don’t have a welder, or a map. This is problematic, because I am planning on driving to my homeland, New Zealand, from New England.

Assuming each tile is 1 meter squared (which makes things a little big, but reasonable), then each overmap tile is 24 meters long and wide. Considering my planned trip is to head due south for 9,595.85km, and then head west for another 6311.99 km, I will have to head 399,827 map tiles south, and 263,000 map tiles west. It’s not as bad as it seems … travelling at 100 km/hr means that that will only take just over 6 days of solid driving! My only concern is that the game engine will not be able to handle several million map tiles in my saved games…

ROAD TRIP!!

ROAD TRIP!!
One of my dreams is that there will eventually be the ability to create custom maps, so someday there will be a map of the United States to explore, and, eventually, maybe even the entire world!

The Solar Roller V is dead between two towns. The weak winter sun is not strong enough to support my wandering lifestyle. But I refuse to give in and give it a gas engine! Only electric and fusion for me!

only two words: foot crank

I went to the nearest town and brought back some semi-charged storage batteries. I replaced the ones on the Solar Roller with them. That gave me enough juice to get to the outskirts of the town. A long nap combined with a well-earned sunny day has brought my batteries to 10%. I crafted some more mutagen to pass the time and now I have 20 gallons. I also raided a coffee shop and now I have a plastic jerrycan of atomic coffee (40). I WILL NEVER SLEEP AGAIN!

Though you WILL mutate/die because atomic coffee is radioactive.

Flame, show me an ingame pic of your Solar Roller.

It is powered by two large electric engines. I don’t have a plasma engine yet but I do have a hydrogen tank. The two turrets are fusion blasters, but I dare not use them because they take up too much power, something I have had in short supply since before I put them on. The solar panels are 4 upgraded, 2 quantum. Even they do not supply quite as much power as I need. Underneath them are 6 cargo carriers with vehicle parts, electronic parts, chemistry ingredients, clothing and armor parts, books that I have already read but I want to save just in case, and firearms.

In order the crafting stations are: kitchen unit, kitchen buddy, electric forge, welding rig, minifridge, and chemistry lab. My kitchen unit has my medicines and a water tank underneath. My kitchen buddy has my electronics and a recharging station. My welding rig has my forging tools that I can’t store in my forge, as well as my scrap metal and plastic chunks. My chemistry set stores my mutagen jugs and serum vials. The actual chemistry ingredients I store in the cargo bay.

I eventually plan to add a ram to the front of the Solar Roller V to make it different from the Solar Roller IV. Right now they are about the same except for a bit of organization and solar panel placement.

Y’know, curious. How does one actually get the recipe for quantum solar panels? I’ve never found a book that teaches it.

Can’t make them, have to find them in Labs and the like I think.

Oh bah. Marloss Man Reborn has survived radiation levels well over two thousand. He’ll be fine.

So do you stockpile iodine and have a radiation scrubber system or is your character just a maniac?

@TheFlame52 : why don’t you add more solar panels and batteries?
i know my own solar trucks have 20+ of the best solar panels i can use.
Your car could have at least 24 solars to power it…

radiation fade away over time i drink atomic cofee sometimes and sometimes i got few mutations like bark and scales (yes, 2 skin mutations)

Well… GG guys!

My trip to NZ is probably about to be cut short. Hopped in my car about a day late, and drove out of the city. I could NOT find a single place where a zombie hoard was not a few tiles away, until I drove deep into a forest. Spent most of day 15’s afternoon scavenging off a solar car, and was about to set up a more permanent campsite to get a breather, build a makeshift welder, and repair the (reasonably significant) damage to my car, when, just in evening, a steady stream of hoards arrived.

I fought off the first few waves, but then a wave of about 30 came, so I fled further south, at night. Finally found a place where there were no zombies in direct LOS (about 40 map tiles to the south … that is how thick the zombie hoard is!), and found out that I was right next to a hospital. I have had enough running for now, so I stand and fight. And I was doing so well, until I see a Zombie Hulk. I only have a small pistol, so I don’t think my chances of survival are that good.

I might quickly jump in the debug menu, to see how dead I really was… especially with regards to those hoards. How loud is an idling car, anyway? I figured it was not that loud, because it could only do 90 km/h …

[Edit] Yip. Dead. Used the debug menu, and it looks like when you leave a tile, any living zombies will be turned into hoards… so that is why I was getting so many tiny waves … zombies were following me!

Killed the Hulk though. Shaolin Adept is OP. Would have done it really easily had a smoker not kept protecting it…

Died from fire. Ended up trapped in a little room with my boarded up door. Lit a fire on the boarded up door, hoping that some fortunate cave-ins would free me, but didn’t pan out. It still took nearly 6 hours for me to burn down the boarded up door. That is some strong boards I made there … it’s probably stronger than the nearby walls O.o[/Edit]

Radiation scrubber system, repair nanobots, and over 440000 bionic power.

Also, I looked at my bionics and the bionics in the debug menu. The only bionics I am missing are:

  1. Bionic Claws
  2. Close Quarters Battle
  3. Diamond Cornea (I failed an install earlier)
  4. Facial Distortion
  5. Heat Drain
  6. Artificial Night Generator
  7. Shockwave Generator
I don’t need any of those, besides Diamond Cornea. I think I’m the king of bionics.

Yeah, they’re a rare Lab Finale find. I’m not averse to letting folks craft 'em (upgrade an advanced panel) with a CVD forge, though–incentive to keep lab-diving.
