Genetically Unstable and Robust Genetics? Sounds like a cool mix!
My bionic prepper found a small electric substation to the north of the city, alas, north of it are more houses (and more zeds).
I killed two zed technicians by throwing rocks at them, then got back to the base, remembered I’d found a working electric car by the starting shelter, walked to it, saw it had a small bit of charge left, drove up to starting shelter, packed up, drove to the base, parked up (to keep the baby charging and now I’ve got to look for water again.
Once water problem has been dealt with and the panels charged a bit more (and got some mechanics skills) I’m gonna drive north to take apart a full humvee I found, so that I can swap some military-grade wheels and armor on my mobile base.
i now trying to mine some doors at saprofagus but zombear destroyed my ANBC suit after while i noticed that i lost some health i looked at my radiation badge it was black but i survived it by using repair nanobots and radiation sucubber system
EDIT: for water when you are far away from river get a 55 galon durm and fill it with water this supply will cover your need for water for years
I’m taking on a lab by converting all the robots with a control laptop and setting them against one another. It’s working pretty well, but devouring my batteries. Oh well, this thing is rechargeable and I have plenty of vehicle power.
Found a working semi-truck with beds and storage space galore on a bridge, all it needed was some gas, which I acquired by emptying out bottles of cough syrup I purchased from an NPC.
Also found a gang shootout zone (fun fact: on 0.01 item spawn the dead gangsters usually only have cargo pants. no other clothes. dead scientists usually only have a lab coat. dead soldiers usually only have army pants and combat boots), and so have a crap-ton of cocaine now. Let’s see if I can install some of these CBMs I’ve pilfered.
Came down with a flu just after I killed a shocker and found a house with a pool outside. I had to leave the house in a hurry a day later as a wandering survivor zombie decided to come visiting. Since then, I’m stuck at my older base making clean water and trying to sleep, since the dratted cough syrup gave me a sleeping pill dependency.
My latest person is on day for 4. I started out as a cop with 10/12/10/10 stats.
Traits: Forgetfu( skill rust off), Moodswings(only mildly inconvenient when trying to read), Night cision( get chance to run if I spot something in the dark), Pain resistance(better than I thought it would be), Poor hearing, truth teller and Ugly ( both very worth it)
World: static spawn, .05 item spawn with .05 zombie spawn. Also playing 1920 experimental 2 weeks old or so build.
Currently I have a L39B pistol. This thing is amazing! Made in 2039 I guess it holds 21 9mm bullets and it has 3 round burst mode too!
My back up for spitters and such is a CW-24 rifle, It’s a civillian version of the svs-24 and fires 30 6.54X42mm. This ammo is a little hard to find but well worth it.
Skills are getting there, trying to find a hacksaw to get my custom bike built but can’t find one in 4 days and no garages around either…
So a good week so far as long as no random MI’go’s come wondering around and after a day 3 I had to move further in town to a church because the wildlife started moving in. Guess its because the corpses around? Does this encourage wildlife spawns around?
Wildlife starts spawning when you kill all the zeds around in static spawn.
As for my survivor, no change - it’s day 9 now and I can’t get over the flu nor over the sleeping pill addiction, in spite of not using the syrup any more.
Went to sleep at exhausted, i don’t wake up to some noise going around my base.
I wake up to see my window broken into and then hear someone shooting at a rattlesnake with terrible aim i might add.
I decide to go kill the NPC cos i have a psychopath character just for looting them.
1 map tile down i see hundreds of .22 casings on the ground and blood splatters everywhere.
NPC reloads his Mosquito pistol, i think “jesus did he steal my shit?”.
Attack him while he’s reloading, 3 gouges with my combat knife and all of a sudden his head explodes(i guess i got a headstab).
Find out he did take my guns and ammo + lots of other stuff.
Lost 500 .22 ammo and hundreds of other types of ammo too…
Start digging deep pits and nailboard trap every entrance to my base.
Go to sleep again and i wake up to someone falling into the pits.
Take out my recurve bow and shoot him in the head instantly killing him and pulp his body with the bow.
Go back to sleep peacefully.
I’m having more trouble with the random NPC’s spawning 2 map tiles from my evac shelter base then zombies or animals, there’s also a guy with a TEC-9 in my basement…should i just ventilate him with my H&K MP5 on automatic?
cough syrup just supress some of debuffs what flu and cold give try do not use syrup and other sleeping pills for some time if you need to sleep make a atomic coffe
tip: wear a gas mask it make your immune to smoke, gas and ambient diseases like cold or flu so you do not need to eat vitamins
I managed to successfully sneak into a house at the edge of a city through the forest. Found the frozen dinner in the kitchen, but I didn’t know how to work the oven and the crafting menu said i could use a nearby fire to heat the dinner. For some strange reason, I got the bright idea of using the matchbooks in the other room to set an armchair on fire to heat it up. I definitely managed to heat my food up, as well as myself! facepalm

Welcome to Cataclysm
Ovens don’t work, due to not being powered by electricity anymore
However they do contain the fire if you put wood in them and start the fire in it. Watch out for the smoke, though
You learn something new every day! Not hugely important since braziers are similar, and are easy to make, but that will help me with my planned move out of this house which has done so well for me, and onto the vast, empty road … as soon as I find a welder!
