What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

That’s a bit petty…
You’re right. Zombear has always given me a decent shake, I shouldn’t hunt it for sport. Zoose and Moose, on the other hand, have bullied me at every opportunity and seriously deserve some payback.

Aside: after the discussion about Zig above, I can’t help seeing Zweihander as a term for a Zombie wielding a two-handed sword…

If you can, I will be very impressed. I don’t have any story’s at the moment, I’ll check in next week to post anything epic that happened.

Hulks in front of places are bullshit.
re: horde numbers: I’ll have to check, but there was a change a while back where in static spawn, tough zombies count as multiple zombies when spawning. that might have been applied to dynamic spawn (hordes) as well.
In other words, each hulk that spawned reduces the spawn pool by 50.
Back when I was RPing, this was also the lore for how Hulks and Jabberwocks got so big: they literally are multiple bodies-worth of biomass melded into one heavy-duty unit.

Killed by a single skeletal dog once again, because they are impossible to hit. I cant even run away with Fleet-Footed. They are always one step behind me and just tear apart my clothes until Im naked, and then kill me. Thanks.

Look at your encumbrance level. Is it higher than 3?

Doesn’t matter if your character is new. With out a decent melee skill, a bush, or a gun there is very little chance of surviving one. They’ve mutilated more of my characters than zombears and zooses combined.

Err, yeah it does. I’ve killed skelly dogs with just a bush and a pocket knife with 0 melee.

^bush.

^bush.
The secret is to run towards a bush/window the moment you spot a fast enemy, there’s usually favorable terrain within 20 or 30 squares, and the fast enemies aren’t that much faster than the average survivor.
If you’re getting murdered by them at night then you should train your skills during the day against common zombies before going on night raids. They do have a sense of smell, so you can’t sneak past them easily.

I left the safe house and met an npc. He wasn’t particularly talkative, but, considering I had no gear, I followed him for a bit.

Then he burned down a house in front of a mall. Good luck he who shan’t be remembered; I’m gonna go the other way.

Edit: And this is exactly why I need to work on my writing.

Currently infiniwhipping a zombie cop for some good target practice.

I was painstakingly hoarding soldering irons and hotplates to cannibalize them for heating elements to make makeshift welders for a vehicle welding rig to fix up my Humvee.
Apparently, at 1/2 normal item spawn I’m playing now hotplates are a nonexistent thing. Seriously, after raiding 3 cities I haven’t found a single one.
Then I had a sudden revelation: unlike in my homeland (Ukraine), in US most people cook on electricity! Which means every household oven should be electric.
Sure enough, */ on an oven afforded a buttload of heating elements.

Little things like these are incredibly satisfying.

Yeah. There is cooper tubing in refrigerators, water faucets in sinks, and electronics in consoles.

Right now I’m just roaming about, looking for stuff to do,my current goal is to make myself a military armored truck, with multiple layers of armor,(or maybe just two.) and drive it through buildings and see if it will not break.

Having trouble finding materials, and before anyone says J9,I’m looking for stuff that only has a 40% chance of killing my character, not 80%.

EDIT already partially set up for making the thing, got a pair of V8’s,so long as I’m not wrong and V8’s are the fastest engine and multiple engines make stuff faster,if additional engines don’t make things faster…well, redundant organs are always a good thing.

Finally retrieved the welder and anvil I found in a garage a town over. Crafted a charcoal forge and kiln. Now just reading until I get enough charcoal to make a metal working chisel. Than time to make a nodachi! Between my kids softball games, work and other things it has taken me 2 days IRL to get this far. Very satisfying.

what is better? katana or nodachi? because i see so many pepole want make/get nodachi

The Keris (karis?) as it is extremely fast and knocks enemies back on critical. However, of the 2, the katana is better. I think people just want a nodachi because its rarer.
