What weapons would you like to see in the game?

On the plus side, you DO get to play with guns all day, need no formal education, and it does help you make valid points in very limited situations on the internet.
You had me at ‘guns’.
GUNS!!! <,< >,> oh sorry. In other news Apathetic welcome to come hunting out at my place whenever ^.^ Maybe I can get my neighbor the FBI WMD subject matter expert (or something like that) to come out at the same time if you ever swing by. SOOO much stuff will go boom ^.^

^If this day ever happens my life will be complete and I will have no complaints regrets of any kind at all.
You should check out Tannerite if you’re looking for some nice legal booms, though maybe not quite as impressive as what that fella could generate! I’d throw you the same offer if you’re ever in the northern wastes of Canada - we don’t have quite as many cool toys as you guys do, but the hunting’s good and the moose and deer season lasts three months in my area.

To keep a little on topic - friction activated explosives like the above mentioned tannerite would be neat to see in game. It’s easy enough stuff to make from common chemicals that it wouldn’t be hard to assemble in the apocalypse. The disadvantage is you need to shoot them to set them off, usually with a gun going over 2000fps (i.e. a noisey one). The advantage is that they pretty much will never accidentally go off no matter what else you do to them.

believe it or not, I am well versed in blowing random shit up with tannerite. Did you know that a wheel rim placed over a chlorine bucket with 20ish?lb of tannerite will send the rim out of visible range height wise before finally crashing down? Shockwave when held over water with string is SWEEEET. They also blow nice chunks out of trees, and momentarily gelatinize flesh placed over them before explosion (such as a dead wild boar) It is largely for these very reasons I mentioned tannerite/ other brands of Nitrogen pellets + Indian dark aluminum mix to be placed in the game in the ‘weapons to add’ thread I think.

Moose hunt huh… That sounds more terrifying than the local 500+ sometimes wold boars here…and more of an adrenaline rush than flashlight tag. Ever end up in the land of milk bags (hehehe silly bags of milk) Ill have to take you up on that offer…maybe. The moose hunt sounds terrifying.

It is for just those reasons I kinda wish we had environment wrecking hogs around here.

Never tried putting a wheel rim into orbit, but five lbs sitting in some diesel with a magnesium transfer case out of a bell 20…6(? may have been a 205) helicopter on top of it throws up a very nice, UFO-like fireball. Haven’t ever shot it over water for some reason, seems like a must-try.

I do know that 27 lbs and about 10 pounds of condensate is probably the quickest way to remodel a '92 Taurus, at least if you’re going for that “field covered in little flaming chunks of '92 Taurus” look. I think that one actually made it on youtube someplace but I can’t find it now. Dammit, now I wanna go blow things up, but it’s like 11 at night here. And I live in the middle of town. Thanks dude. >:(

Outside of C:DDA moose are a little less scary. Unless you’re a bow guy or armed with another inferior weapon like a pickup truck. Actually, thinking about it, I’d rather run into a blackbear unarmed because they flight rather than fight most times, wheras moose are stupid swamp-donkies with no sense of self preservation and a weird concept of what constitutes personal space.

Oh, and milk bags (wtf, right?), as well as mounties in red that still ride horses, obsequiousness, and being scared of guns is an east coast thing. Us north-west guys are pretty much just Americans with better healthcare and parkas in July.

/derail, sorry apparently pretty easy going mods. Should almost make an explosions/gun thread to satisfy my needs, lulz.

O.o long lost twin brother I didn’t know I had is that you?
What a waste of a taurus mine is a '93 I think and refusing to give in. (Gata love a good Ford)
Dad is death afraid of grizzlies especially since he has seen many demonstrations of the damage our “small” russian bore mixed with native almost javelinas type pigs can do. I hear that the moose are mostly only problematic during mating season…which makes them sound slightly less terrifying except for all the mostly bits.

Why are you blasting pieces of helicopter?

Dam still not on topic but… Hows the snow there, JUST got a bad blast of it here, and starting to feel like the only Texan capable of driving in snow. Duel wheeler truck got stuck going up a hill right in front of me today and I just drove by him in my 1 wheel drive ford taurus. WTF?! Dude wouldn’t quit spinning his wheels and digging himself in either. sigh

Also finally got around to reading that first monster post and WHOLY CRAP you know your stuff (AWESOME) I didn’t completely follow but I loved the read non the less. Would you not have to worry about the AA fragmenting before hitting the target, and/or breaking up in the gun and leaking battery acid everywhere? IRL anyways… In game that probably just counts as slightly more chance far gun to take minor repairable damage when fired.

Ok, so, I’m really, really fucking drunk right now. Take the follow with a shaker of salt, probably.

 1. I actually have a half brother I’ve never met who was born in Louisiana and has the same first name as me. We’ll just assume you are him.

 2. I don’t know what the difference between a '92 and '93 Taurus is, but I do know the difference between a "93 and flaming chunks of really any car ever - badass super-explosioness. I’m sure the Taurus could have run for another ten years, but I’ll be picking up bits of Taurus for probably twice that time, and it’s much cheaper on gas when spread across a quarter section like that.

 3. Moose are meaner than grizz for sure, at least in terms of males. Female moose are kinda mellow unless you end up between them and the calves. Males are fucking bonkers aggressive and will take on parked cars and stumps and all sorts of crap should they feel “threatened”. Really, “mostly” is an accurate description of the issue with them. Bears actually act more like big pigs, thus the "boar’ and “sow” appelations. You should see how they hunt hogs in Hawaii if you want a scary story, BTW.

 4. Why AREN’T you shooting pieces of helicopter? In all honesty, we shot them because they were there. I don’t know why they were there - it was a public forest, for lack of a better descriptor. I know what they were because I grew up at an airport for all intents and purposes.

 5. The snow is actually summer levels of good. Two years ago, I could take a picture of me standing on a two-story high snow pile. This year, there’s mud like an inch down. Kinda leads creedance to that global warming crap. While I’m a gun guy and not a car guy, duallys (four tires in back, if drunk me gets what you’re saying right, anyway) are worse on snow because the weight is spread across four tires rather than two, and fucks with traction. I used to have a 2 wheel drive (well, one, effectively, like your Taurus), and that thing went EVERYWHERE quite surprisingly. Only time I ever got stuck was stopping on deep snow without realizing it and falling through, which sucked as it was about four feet deep and I had to dig a WWI style trench all the way back to the road. I was under the impression the south got little snow, but you have my sympathy anyway.

 6. How the battery reacts would depend on how it’s loaded. It’s pretty unlikely it would break up out of a 12 ga (a slug goes about 1600 FPS and forms a tight seal if seated into a proper cup, a AA will not form any kind of gas seal and will be going much slower accordingly - you need close on 4000FPS with a bullet weighing 115ish grs to see it come apart in mid air in my experience). Most double As seem to use solid state acids, and the odds of that hurting a gun that’s maintained regularly are slim anyway - it’s actually pretty tame stuff.

Putting a battery through a full choke, much like a real slug, might do some !!FUN!! things to a barrel, but a cyl choke (basic smoothbore slug gun) will have no troubles. I was pretty impressed by the AA going through the mild steel girder section in the video (thought it would be too slow), but I think the real effectiveness relies on it turning sideways mid-flight than anything else.

Dam even drunk you are one smart cookie.

 1. No sorry if I have a Canadian half brother I haven’t been told about their existence, and I was born in Texas with the first name Connor.

 2. HA thats a good way to put it.

 3. overly aggressive animals are overly aggressive. Nothing more to say here.

 4. Well my dad is retired FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and friends with a renowned military helicopter pilot…even so helicopter parts tend to run extremely expensive and I think the gov frowns on the use of military hardware as replacements for space exploring monkeys and I doubt they let people just wander off with engine parts.

 5. huh I was thinking in terms of 4wheel drive+ which I assumed he had, yea…no no its not global warming according to Texas we’ve been seeing more snowfall in winter and lighter summer heat. Also did you know that like 30 years ago or something it was global cooling and they were talking about ways to increase the heat? Don’t hear about that much these days…

 6. hmm that makes sense, I was referring a little more to the fact that sometimes battery just sitting there will decide its done and die leaking acid everywhere. I would imagine fresh batteries would do fine but older might not hold together as well even if they left the barrel properly. All the same cool stuff, death by shotgunned battery would be an interesting autopsy…

I have plenty of ideas. Some of them are from other games. Some of them are really, really stupid. Most of them that are both come from Vlambeer’s amazing game Nuclear Throne, which I love with all my heart.

So, stupid guns (Obviously all super rare/only craftable):
Minigun
Gatling Shotgun
Auto crossbow/speargun
Auto Crossbow, but with ridiculous weight and power. Think an automatic ballista.
Timed sticky launcher/grenades
Grenade/rocket rifle (Up there, stupidity wise. But who wouldn’t want to snipe with explosives?)
Auto grenade launcher (Again, really stupid, but oodles of fun.)
Cluster Grenade/cluster GL
Gatling Rocket launcher
Auto Laser Rifle
Laser minigun
Chain lightning weapons (Works like the CBM, but in pistol, rifle, shotgun, and SMG varients, maybe even special lightning grenades and launchers. Think of how ridiculous auto chain lightning would be.)
Laser melee weapons, if they don’t already exist.
These are all very, very stupid, but probably a lot of fun. What I really want is more ridiculously high power stuff for lategame, because we obviously don’t have enough ridiculous stuff in it.

Gunblade would be nice, melee and ranged in same package.

I believe that pistol bayonets are supposed to fill that role.

Lance. I want me some dirtbike jousting!

Yes, but ARE bayonets cool?
NOOOOO!
Tbh neither are gunblades due to way too many cosplay-pictures in 4chan.

Pistol bayonets aren’t cool?

Instead the guns were designed to be used as brush cutters in dangerous territory. The heavy knife would clear away the jungle, while the pistol would be ready if enraged animals or hostile natives suddenly sprang from the bracken.

Sounds perfect for the apocalypse.

Agreed, especially in cata where the natives ARE hostile.

What we need is a pistol sword.

A pistol that shoots swords?

Water guns. Filled with gasoline. Or acid. Or BEEEEEES. Maybe not bees.

Seriously though, water guns + gasoline + lighter = flamethrower is a good idea. Water guns + acid could be cool, too. Maybe get steel-braid lines from cars and glass bottles plus water gun to make.

al-47 maybe? I assume its in there already…little to obvious a gun to miss seems like…

I don’t think the Russian 5,45x39mm round is in yet.

Unlike AK-47 AK-74 hasn’t imo had enough “prime time” outside eastern block to be found as easily.
But on the other hand there ARE rearer guns to be found in Cata.
Maybe AK-74 is simply too boring?

The AK-74 is very popular now and its popularity will only grow over the next twenty years, it looks like.

The 47 is allready in, as is the “future” version of it, so a AK-74 would make sense to me.
