Water tiles or sewage tiles in mine tunnel

So someone will need to use his swimming skill to cross that area. How about it?

Random swimming seems like something that would have to be caused by Cataclysmic events–most underground work would take that sort of thing into consideration and build bridges (see: Sewage Treatment) or be stopped altogether.

Labs do have sewer access points…that they bar off with metal gratings. Rest of the interplays seem interesting, but–again–seem like they’d get boring if they happen every time.

Maybe the subways will have tracks and broken down subway cars, complete with the bodies of those who died there. Maybe have a survivor base in the future there, when underground will have lights and will not be always dark.

Yes, yes, a hundred times yes.

There’s a lot of underground stuff and it’d be interesting if this could be expanded upon and the map generation would try (where sensible) to link them together in interesting ways.

This WOULD make Trodlodyte, etc much more playable, though.

Very, very many mines are naturally flooded; and are only kept dry by the constant pumping out of water.

Once the power goes, it’s completely reasonable to think that mines would fill completely or partially with water.
